In a philanthropic gesture aimed at fostering education and community development, the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation awarded Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) scholarships to 250 beneficiaries on Monday, February 5, 2024.

The ceremony, held at the MOK Foundation House in Emiola, Offa, Kwara State celebrated the recipients drawn from the seven local government areas of Kwara South Senatorial District. Notably, the recipients were selected due to their academic achievements and potential.

Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode congratulated the beneficies and expressed his optimism that the scholarship be a stepping stone to greater heights for each and every one of them.

Represented by MOK Foundation Director, Mr. Saheed Lawal, he said "I stand before you with immense gratitude as the Director of the Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode (MOK) Foundation, representing the visionary Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode. Today marks a significant moment as we gather to celebrate and empower 250 deserving individuals through the award of Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) scholarships.

"Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode sends his heartfelt congratulations to each of the beneficiaries. It is a moment of joy and pride for the MOK Foundation as we contribute to the educational pursuits of these promising individuals.

"Our commitment at the MOK Foundation extends beyond academic support. We believe in holistic community development, addressing not only educational needs but also security, empowerment, and healthcare. Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode's vision is rooted in the belief that by uplifting individuals, we contribute to the overall betterment of society.

"As we witness the impact of our initiatives, I encourage the beneficiaries to approach this opportunity with diligence, determination, and a sense of responsibility. Education is a powerful tool that can transform lives and communities. Each one of you has the potential to make a significant difference.

"Remember, success is not just about personal achievements; it is about how you contribute to the well-being of others. Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode serves as a shining example of someone who, despite being a successful entrepreneur, remains dedicated to giving back to the society that shaped him.

"In closing, I extend our sincere appreciation to the academic and community leaders present today for their continuous support. To the beneficiaries, seize this opportunity, excel in your studies, and, when the time comes, give back to your community. The MOK Foundation believes in your potential, and we look forward to witnessing your future accomplishments.

"Thank you, and may this scholarship be a stepping stone to greater heights for each and every one of you."

In addition, Mr. Bammeke Muyideen, HOD Social Sciences and Humanity Department at the Federal Polytechnic Offa, commended Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode for his outstanding humanitarian efforts, emphasizing MOK's dedication to various societal needs beyond education.

"I want to thank God almighty for all of us here today, specifically Qs Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode. If everyone is like MOK, poverty will finish in our society.

"Aside from the fact that education is germane, Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode does not take care of education only, but other things; security, empowerment, health and so much more. A few months ago, this place was filled with people who came for food stuff distributed here.

"Let me reinforce it that MOK is not an elected public officer. He’s not a senator, chairman, he’s just an entrepreneur who works assiduously to give back to the society. You the children sitting here today, this is a lesson for you, please start thinking about how to give back to the society like MOK. May God continue to bless and uplift him," stated Mr. Bammeke Muyideen during the event.

Highlighting the foundation's multifaceted impact, Mrs. Mujidat Bammeke Oladipo, the Director of Student Affairs at Lens Polytechnic Offa, encouraged students to stay focused on their goals in tertiary institutions, regardless of their backgrounds.

Khadijah Salawu, a staff member of the Library and Information Science Department at the Federal Polytechnic Offa, urged the beneficiaries to emulate MOK's commitment to giving back to society. She emphasized MOK's choice to contribute to his community despite his success, serving as an exemplary model for the students.

Chief Oyawoye O.O, the All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPPS) Secretary in Offa local government area, praised MOK Foundation's initiative, stating, "Education liberates us, and MOK is doing the society a favour"

He emphasized the broader impact of education, extending beyond the local community.

The ceremony concluded with a call for the beneficiaries to not only excel in their JAMB examinations but to also consider how they can contribute to society, echoing the philanthropic spirit exemplified by Muhydeen Okunlola Kayode through his foundation, MOK Foundation.

Other dignitaries at the event included Engr Adewuyi Olaitan Abdulsalam, Alhaji Omotosho Surajudeen Olaniyi, Mr. Moshood Tewogbola, Alhaji Muideen Agboola, Aloba Biodun, Damilola Nafisat Mufutau (Efissy Mama), Afeez Abu (TNT FM Ijagbo), Bello Marooph, among others.
