The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration of the Abia State University, ABSU, Prof Godwin Emezue has been released after spending 11 days in the hands of his Kidnappers, ABN TV reports.

Prof Godwin Emezue who was kidnapped on Friday 26th January 2024 inside a fueling Station around Umuahia North LGA in Abia State, and whisked away by his Kidnappers was released on Tuesday Night after a ransom of 25Million was paid by his Family which was a condition for his release by his Kidnappers.

It was gathered that the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 35Million from his family, they however threatened to kill him after the family pleaded with a cash of N5million.

The Kidnappers who had shown footage of how they tortured the Professor threatened to kill him if the family fails to pay N20million before the end of Saturday, the traumatized family rallied and raised the money which they gave in Cash to the Kidnappers who issued a warning against involving Security agencies.

However his kidnappers demanded an additional 5 Million, claiming that they had instructions to K!ll him but may not want to do that for the New Year, the family with the support of his Friends and Abia State University raised the money which was sent again to the Kidnappers.

Boom dig_it!!!

Congratulations to you, if it was Prof. Chima of environmental science department that year that usually force students to sort, using his proceeds to buy 470 that year after giving me an unworthy C, I wouldn't type congratulations.

Pls how bad must it get before Tinubu and the rulers of this country take action?

What baffles me the most is that inspite of all these some Nigerians are still supporting these ineffective government simply because they're not directly affected.

Nigerians don't care about how bad something is until it affects them.

Was ransom paid or not?
What's the solution to this kidnapping?
What's the usefulness of NIN?
How these be curtailed?

There is no good relationship between Africans and governance.... Our independence was a mistake... Give and African person access to even heaven's Treasury they'll loot it dey...and hell fire will be envied...

Colonialism at its worst is far better than any African leader ruling at its best...

Nin Bvn n all the rest of the identity stuffs don't work here in Nigeria to curtail crime.
Kidnappers n terrorists know this so they don't care.

In saner climes, just your fingerprint will be used to trace you anywhere you are.. or when making calls you can be geolocated within 20secs.

Forget this country has so many setbacks jare.. just hope Nigeria don't happen to you or family members.

Just above you is the griller who used Nairaland to promote his disastrous darling daddy Buhari for 8 years, he now has a special status on Nairaland that you can't quote his comments

Kidnappers should be fed to Lions. Same as corrupt polithiefcians who steal millions of our common wealth.

That's the only way to stop these nonsenses.
