@infosmart is it possible to get a 3G etisalat signal with a 3G 7.2 Universal modem b/cos i have been using etisalat on it for about a week in 2 different areas but what i get is just GPRS signal. but with mtn its 3G complete signal. i was wondering if it is peculiar to etisalat network or maybe their is no 3G signal in these areas. |

I would suggest it as wireless broadband service. It’s a very reliable service that is offered by several different providers. I too use the same in my office and it works well. |

@dozie you need to subscribe to at least the 200MB Bundle on etisalat to get the 3G service, if you do the normal 100MB or u're using the 15MB then u'll still be doing EDGE, so just subscribe to the 200mb package, it's just 1000 naira now, and after subscription your sim automatically becomes 3G enabled, so even if u don't subscribe and u want to us the free data, u're forever on 3G |

@dozie, if you staill have just EDGE on your device even after you subscribe to a bundle, just take out your battery, leave it for a few minutes and put it back on and you'll see constant 3.5G. |

Although they all disappoint at one point or the other. There are some that are manageable: MObiTel & Swift also Starcomms. |

gabng: True, I hardly have any downtime when using Cobranet, with cobranet What You See Is what You Get, if they tell you they're offering you a speed of up to 800kbps, that's what you get, period. Please don't even try starcomms. |

Re: The Best Internet Connection To Use? by jaysay(m): 6:29pm On Nov 18, 2011 |
@dozie, Yes, you can get a 3G signal from Etisalat with a universal modem as long as you have 3G signal at your end. @poster of question. There's no best connection. Your closest to best is to use a universal modem and switch to the network that works well per time. For me, for now, Etisalat offers the best speed. I got up to 2.88Mbps download speed using speed test this morning. I hope this helps. ;-) |
