lol my housemaid in Naija use those things, and the lips shine well well

@poster, your problem is a simple one. just do the following:

1) get a lip balm (it sells for just N100) and use it all the time. they have nice flavors (lip balm oh, not lip gloss)
2) just before going to bed, apply a thick layer of vaseline on your lips.
3) avoid rubbing your tongue on your lips, that is using saliva, by the time the saliva dries up, it makes your lips dry

just do the above especially the vaseline at night. the above worked for me because i had this problem before. but now i have no problem even during the dry season. 

let me add too that there is need for a balanced diet.

i forgot to ask? do u smoke? if yes, then, i bet ur lips will continue to be dry!

Well you can prevents that by using chapstick or the Vaseline lip therapy (its protects dry, chapped lips) but don't ever use the regularly vasline becos it's going to get blacker and reduce the use of lip gloss
