Tinubu Seeks Senate Confirmation Of Five Board Directors For CBN by peekspot(m): 5:48pm On Feb 13

President Bola Tinubu has asked the senate to confirm five people as directors of the board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Tinubu’s request was contained in a letter read by Senate President Godswill Akpabio on the floor of the upper legislative chamber on Tuesday.

The president premised his request on sections 6(1a) and 10(1)(2) of the CBN establishment act.

“In compliance with the provision of sections 6(1a) and 10(1)(2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) establishment act 2007, I am pleased to present for confirmation by the senate the appointments of the underlisted five persons as directors of the board of the CBN,” he said.

The directors of the board are; Robert O. Agbide, Ado Yakubu Wanga, Murtala Sagaley, Urom Eke, and Olayinka Aliyu.

To confirm 5 new failures

Dollar is headed for 7k naira per dollar

Again it's simple mathematics

The CBN doesn't produce Dollar and cannot target the supply of dollars, they should be reducing the supply of naira

To get the exchange rate correct they need to do two things

1) mop up naira liquidity,the 28% inflation rate is a pointer to what interest rate, CRR rate and what the FG bonds should be trading at. FGN is still issuing bonds at 7% while running at 28% inflation, an insult to peoples intelligence and a disgrace to send emails with such a fraud

2) stop printing naira under any guise, ways and means etc

This indirectly implies reducing FGN expenditure by over 80%

Stop impoverishing people

There is too much presidential monopoly in the CBN.

Its time to have a system similar to the federal reserve where each geopolitical zone have a vetoing representation in the apex bank.

So that one person (CBN governor) is not hijacked by the cabal and made to do things that will potentially devalue the currency and put 300 million Nigerians into poverty.

Because no matter what is put in place by this regime it can easily be sabotaged by the next regime and we are back where we started. That has been happening for the past 50 years.

Everybody knows Emefiele is just the messenger, the main actors are still walking around freely enjoying the Loot.
