In the video
Nigerian statesman Bode George accused the late Access Bank Helmsman and other top bankers like Adeola of being responsible for the dollar crisis ravaging Nigeria for many years.
According to Mr. Bode George, Wigwe receives millions of dollars from the CBN monthly intended for the Nigerian populace but diverts them, selling to bureau de change dealers at inflated prices and profiting and undermining the Nigerian economy. He claims this is how top bankers amassed immense wealth.
He asks, "Where is Wigwe's factory that has made him stupendously wealthy?" He said the wealth Wigwe derived from corruption has enabled him to establish a university and boldly advertise it on CNN.
Mr. Bode George concluded by saying that Wigwe should be invited for questioning.

...and many more

What bode George is saying is deep

He means that the hugely discounted Foreign Exchange FG gave to banks to help drive National investment
and Production for decades was sold to Mallams in the Black Market Rate and the profits pocketed by Bankers
making them stupendously wealthy instead of the money being used to build Nigerian Manufacturing and driving National Industrial Development

Nigeria would have had a better result if it had given the money to Serious Nigerian or even Lebanese Industrialists based in Nigeria because
they would have actually built the Industrial Infrastructure and industries Nigeria needed with the discounted Foreign Exchange from Government

I don’t care if you’re looking for traffic or engagements, but it can never be well with you. Imagine you’re one of the victims bereaved kids, currently confused with all this, stumbling on to this headline. Your upbringing is evidenced by your lack of respect for both the living & the dead. cool

The truth is top bankers in Nigeria made their money from dollar racketeering...The likes of Wigwe, Tony Elumelu, etc.

During Abacha's time, he jailed many bank executives and withdrew their banking licenses because of dollar racketeering.

Black man. You'll always find a way to circumvent the fact because of your instability and unwillingness to face the truth. Even if they give you trillions of dollars, you'd still accomplish nothing. Is it not the same country where multinationals are closing shop or another? There is no place on earth where industrialization took place without a political will. Whether Japan or Singapore, China or Hong Malaysia, a country without sound leaders and incapable of creating basic drivers like regular electricity and security will keep moving in circles. Let's not even talk about corruption in high places. Until Nigerians understand that the country is just a cash cow where ethnicities bicker for their share of the cake, no progress will be made. You've already wasted more than half a century doing the same thing without making progress and still don't understand. Until you guys sit down and understand that as presently constituted, this is a country of strange bed fellow with different purpose. Ask yourself why you cannot undo what the colonialists did if it hasn't favored you for nearly a century. If bankers have been diverting funds, why have you not been able to check them if not political incompetence and dysfunctional system? The fact remains that outflows move through the orifices of least resistance and Nigeria's problem is mostly political leadership. The day that is fixed, the lines would naturally fall unto pleasant places. Until then, alooters continua.

Abacha gave them a heavy blow. A military styled tribunal headed by a civilian high court judge. The pass judgement within 21 days shocked

The fear of Abacha could be among the reasons the dollar rate was stable throughout his tenure.

If we do not address ill gotten wealth in Nigeria. Nothing will work

The Chinese government takes a strong stance against corruption, and penalties can range from administrative punishments to severe legal consequences, including imprisonment and even the death penalty in extreme cases.

So he is immune from criticism because he passed away?

Are his bereaved children more important or worthy than the Nigerian children who suffered in consequence of his actions?

HELL NO!

You are expressing stupidity.

Is his death more important than other deaths in Nigeria unspoken of?

Stop praising the rich in Nigeria. They are all crooks. None of them is clean.
This is not about bad belle or jealousy. Most of them abused the Nigerian system to achieve their wealth. Those that didn't involved in a lot of diabolical acts. The clean ones are few. I mean very very few.

This explains one of the reasons the regular debit cards was stopped from being used to conduct transactions on online platforms, like ali Express and Amazon, while hiding under the fight against terrorism.
To purchase goods and services on some of these platforms, one is required to open a dollar account, which has to be funded using dollar cash procured directly from black markets, These ungodly banks would later resold the dollars o black marketers, and the cycle continues, while those genuinely in need of FX, such as importers and those in need to pay tuition and hospital fees are pushed to mallams to source for the scarce dollars.
Chei ! These guys have destroyed this country.
E no go better for these people, including our politicians who support this evil, both living and dead because their actions have sent a lot to early grave. None of them will live to enjoy their loot in Jesus name.

This is the absolute truth and nothing but the truth. Nigerian bankers are the main cause of the dollar crisis we have in Nigeria. They are all criminals pretending to be bankers. Have you ever wondered why Nigerian bankers are the richest bankers in the world. How many actual banking do they do that the likes of Wigwe, Elumelu, Ovia are richer than US, UK, Chinese and even Swiss bankers. Banking business is supposed to be collecting money from customers and lending to other customers and profiting from the difference. Nigerian bankers business model is all about round tripping - they collect money from government at official rates and sell to Nigerians at blackmarket rates through bureau de change and mallam. They are singlehandedly responsible for the destruction of the Naira.

This was why Abacha jailed them all, they are all criminals. When Abacha liberalised the Banking industry, these criminals duped ordinary Nigerians billions of naira with wonder banks. They were the ones that destroyed that noble policy.
