@Poster, i would be interested in this post as i also use a mitsubishi. What brand do you use? Will do you a world of good to have the car's manual as some of the problems i have had it mine were resolved just by reading the prints and checking online. Pull the code first and get the resolutions to the code on the internet before going to a mechanic. i think there used to be a guy on NL using a scanner; used him once, got out the code, googled it and instructed the mechanic on what to do and problem was resolved.

Then do just that and find out the last time the timing was done. On the timing belt, i'll advise you snoop round forums for info before doing this. Check out this forum for some helphttp://msport97.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=endeavor

Don't fall into the same trap many used car owner do.

Service due light means your car needs service(reminder) as scheduled.

Depending on how many miles you have on your car, light will come on at preset intervals. All you might need now is oil change, which you should have done with a synthetic(?) before shipping.
Log on to this site and get a copy of manual
http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/owners-site/manuals.do

Do oil change with correct parts and

Reset the reminder by the info button on the dashboard.
a, Ignition off, push info button several times until the service indicator comes on,
b. Push the button until the spanner begins to blink
c. Push once again short, the text CLEAR will show.

Its possible that the oil is fresh, but no one reset reminder,if so just reset.

I hope you had a $100 OBD scanner in your budget
