If the govt don't put in place measures to guarantee repayment, I know most of those students that want to access the loan are not ready to pay back. You'll hear them say na their own share of the national cake. For example, most of the loans given to farmers in the northern part of the country were not repaid, some of those farmers who never witness herdsmen attack lied that their farms were attacked.

Yeah, let it be free, it will give the kids of parents struggling to pay private universities fees a profound advantage to the kids and good investments for the parents.
Which organisation will employ kids from less than half baked free universities? If public universities are struggling now that students are paying stipends, imagine what they will be like if they rely totally on government funding.

Student loans isn't a bad idea. But I don't trust our leaders. They always see us as a joke.

This will be one of many opportunities for them to milk the nation dry again.

Two of the conditions that don't sit well is that the student loan is for the undergraduate and and those looking of skill acquisition Post graduate student are exuded from accessing the loan. And two the applicants must provide two FCS employees at not less than grade level 14 as guarantors.
This is selfish. Many have been looking for this opportunity but now their dream going to school is squashed again.

As dem dey get work abroad after graduation, naso Dem dey get work for Nigeria? Where you want make them get the money pay within 2 years?

This is okay if faithfully done. It is part of your account in school. If you are not a student and want to take it, that is blocked. Because of anger in the land, some do not want to hear anything from the government. Just criticise everything, including credible schemes and projects.

There is a difference in start repaying as in Canada and the USA ..... and repay in two years after NYSC.

Exactly! I really don't see how it fits into our clime. Anyone who can't afford formal education should learn a trade and start contributing to the economy. Why should you give loans for something that ends up being useless cux where are the jobs!

This is a bad idea. Government sponsored school loans are bad!!! This is another complicated way to subsidize and reduce price discovery. It's gonna backfire and in 10 to 20 years there will be a serious crisis equivalent to the Nigerian national debt crisis.

If you are critiquing the policy because it will lead to hyperinflation of school fees or whatever else you stated up there, that is fine but saying government should pay student loan directly to student is just plain stupid! Are you not in Nigeria? Do you not read about students that play bet naija or buy phone with their school fees? E come be loan... even in developed nations, students loan is paid as a lump sum to the institution for the full 4years of however long the student will be in school.
