Tinubu economy solution is not only hurting but also destroying. Note that stomach only understands food not figures. Whatever statistics that doesn't put food on the table of the masses or bring the inflation rate down is as useless as uselessness. Lord have mercy.

Tinubu, a bad man with good intentions

North and hypocrisy. You engage in agricultural projects with the country's finances, then out of sentiments send it to Niger Republic that they are more next of kin than Southern Nigerian, yet you all wanted to die for same religion ticket. The hypocrisy in the north stinks to hell. Since you hate the southerners so badly, please call for referendum so you can go attach to your Niger Republic in peace
it's actually because of how useless our currency has become. It pays more to export than sell to Nigerians with poor purchasing power

Trust me, this has nothing to do with religious or ethnic sentiment. It is simple economics. Our weak currency necessarily encourages exports even to neighboring countries. CFA is stronger than naira.

The government is the real culprit.

Hehehe.

Other African countries now see Nigeria as a place to get cheaper food because our currency is very weak. They come and buy food in large quantities back to their countries.

The farmers on the other hand believe they will get a better bargain from foreigners. They said these foreigners don't price too much,and in most cases they don't even inspect the bags as Nigerians do.

This would have been a blessing to Nigeria if the government did their home work well.

Had it been that farmers were secured enough,they would have cultivated more and gotten enough harvest,and we would have been supplying food to other countries.

No matter how we want to see it, insecurity lead us to where we are today. These farmers have been complaining. They pay in millions to bandits during planting and harvest. They must add all those money they paid to these bandits,they can't sell at lost.

Brilliant observation. What do you think Dangote will do?

What do you expect when your own currency is getting weaker by the day. Anybody who knows a little bit of economics would tell you that devaluation of a currency makes it more profitable to sell locally produced goods and services to foreigners. Simple!
Nigerians would prefer to sell our local products to America and Europe and Asia in order to get more dollars. Unfortunately, we do not have the local products which these countries would desire(apart from crude oil).
So the only option is for small countries like Niger Republic, Chad, etc to mop up our agricultural produce, leading to more hunger in Nigeria.
May God help us oooo!

that not the point. They smuggle it because naira has no value, and they trade it in cefa which yields more gain than selling it here in naija. The government can avert this only if they make the naira valuable (like $1 to N300)

It's easy to accuse farmers of sabotage,but remember they also business men.

As we speak, nothing has been done about insecurity in Nigeria. Farmers are still paying heavily to bandits and we expect a different result next time.

According to ronu dem, "go and farm" Mak una leave north alone, if u feel that they are not doing it well, go and farm,.

This is fact my people here in south-south and south-east are so lazy, if you are producing your own food do you think all this will be happening?

I travelled from Warri to Owerri saw vast lands not in use why not promote agriculture and produce your own food and stop depending on the northerners for food, that's why the price of food keeps inflating here and there.

I pity any southerner starving this moment.

The north rakes the bulk of oil money and farm with it under many fancy named schemes like anchor borrower scheme, boi etc, they reap bountifully and tell tales of bandits destroying it to avoid repaying the FG. FG too doesn't try to buy it from the bush markets into the reserves, finally, they start selling the harvest to highest bidder.

Where as the purchasing power of the southerner is the least because inflation and devaluation has ravaging it. Govt of Buhari has used future earnings to subsidizes pas consumptions and built rail to Niger republic.

I pity the average Southerner right now.

Niger has annexed sokoto and half of the north. They just haven't made it official.

They respect their own farms, but they destroy Christian farms in the middle belt, all the way to the south. It is more than a fulani issue, things are bigger than that. They respect Niger, but cut igbos from relating with Cameroon.

The security forces needs to be equalized and fair for all regions. it is even more important than electricity; and right under food. Many have been advising this, but they have been turning a deaf ear.
So many hints, to sit up.

Umu chineke needs to be ready for the road ahead. Even if he self correct, things will still be very uncertain,

A weakened Nigerian influence in Africa;
The other parts of Africa can sense the fracture in the tribes and religion;
The outside foreign powers involved;
The lack of electricity;
The lack of expertise;
The lack of overall wise leaders;
Agricultural issues;
security issues; ........

Umu chineke, should stay united, keep doing the best of ability, help your brothers and sisters when you can, stay alert, and alert your people on attacks from the others. Is more than this but you get the drift...

Some groups of people here was saying rise of dollar is what is causing food scarcity and inflation of food in the country. We don't have security in the country, lack of electricity, increase in fuel and diesel prices, increase in tax and also middlemen wahala, are some of the things causing food prices to go up, but you blame it on dollar, when dollar rising is supposed to be a blessing. Nigerians right now spends about 50 to 60% of their salaries alone on foods. Now imagine if I earn 200$ a month, doing freelance jobs, and I'm in Nigeria, and food is cheap, cost of transportation and daily expenses is cheap, we all won't be complaining na.

The efforts of the FG has been commendable, but the efforts will always be in vain since we've seen corruption as a neighbour rather than an enemy. Until these politicians take home pay are reduced, until we start to be a production economy, until corruption is discourage solely by the death penalty, we dey where we dey.
For the records, Tinubu Should revert his policies on floating of Naira.

What will they eat during rainy season? I got imagining how weed(unwanted plant) will not allow to grow again. I thank God that am a northener but a christain one, at least amidst the hate, we are doing well.

How come christians always think differently. Are they not the same northerners?
Religion is a big issue. Pakistan and India are the same people but due to religion, Pakistan divided and now India which is Hindu is doing well than Pakistan.

There must be something wrong that these guys are doing.

You have a land now and you think properly, don't these people see your progress? Don't they want to be like you?
Why aren't they closer to you to learn from you?
