If it was peter obi as president and things were this bad!!by now there would have been tsunami of protestations peddled by tribal sentiments!!ridiculing chants of "omo ibo"would have reel through the air waves! Tout sponsored by the limping mc olu guy businesses of ibos will be destroyed in lagos and they will be a total breakdown of law and order! Yoruba actors and actress would have turn on ring lights in a tongue lashing charade! But now those who stood on the roasted corn mandate are nowhere to be found. Thunder go visit all of una wey put us for the messšŸ˜”šŸ˜”šŸ˜”
what stopped the Igbos from doing what you are accusing the Yorubas of doing. Abi, Igbos are less human or Lilly livered to carry out such protest? You can start from Onitsha to Owerri nobody will stop you, it's your right

Foolishness

The government should make good policies and leave people carrying out their business in a peaceful manner alone the aboki on the street is not the reason why the naira is changing value every second the policies of this administration is solely responsible.

Ignore IMF go back to pegging system and and stop this craze happening to the naira and the craze of chasing people up and down aboki changers have always been in Nigeria and will always be in Nigeria

Cancel BDC and sell forex in the banks. When there is no black market to take the dollar to by the bank executives, forex will balance.

Thos efcc are blind and fugitive,is the bdc controlling the economy or are they the one that remove the subsidy, why can't they direct their blind operations to the CBN or the fugitive that lives in aso rock.
Re: EFCC Confronts BDC Operators In Abuja (video) by orikoku: 8:44pm On Feb 19
Government can never caught up with this guys. If CBN like they should start selling dollars for 2500, BDC operators will buy it all and start selling at 2700 to 2800.

In a spine-chilling turn of events, the streets of Abuja became a battleground today as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) clashed with Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in a nail-biting confrontation that left bystanders in utter shock.

Eyewitnesses describe the scene as something straight out of an action-packed thriller, as EFCC agents descended upon the BDC operators with an air of intensity rarely witnessed on the streets of the capital. With tensions already running high, the situation quickly escalated into a heart-stopping showdown as both sides refused to back down.

Caught in the midst of this terrifying spectacle, bystanders scrambled for safety as shouts filled the air and the sound of scuffling reverberated through the streets. Mobile phone cameras captured the chaos, with footage showing the intense standoff between the EFCC agents and the defiant BDC operators.

Your news didnā€™t report the reason why EFCC was engaging Abuja BDC.

Please read through it again. The main message is lost. Donā€™t leave us to assume what caused the ā€˜stand-offā€™.

The banks are the culprit... They get the dollars from the CBN but sell at the black market for higher and corrupt gains.

fastseo:
The government should service all valid dollar request through the bsnk and no one will go to aboki again.

But not clearing genuine requests of dollars and still wondering why it's increasing in black market is what I don't know.

Traders, importers etc all get their dollar from aboki that's fact

What will that change?
Will it revert Nigerians to where they were before the famous ā€œsubsidy is goneā€ statement? Will it revert Nigerians to what it was before the famous ā€œ floating the Nairaā€? Thatā€™s the genesis.

The so-called Aboki currency black market speculators have NOT always been in Nigeria like you stated.

It was during the military era especially in the early 1990s that these so-called Aboki currency black markets fully came into existence. The military dictatorships and their cronies propped them up and engaged in round tripping or currency speculations.

It's even annoying that a lot of these illegal black marketers are NOT Nigerians and they have been allowed to engage in economic sabotage through round tripping.

No where in serious developing or developed countries are these kinds of black markets allowed to exist to avoid distortions in the economy.
