Tinubu don't have a single idea on how to run this country. Yoruba people with all their super credentials has failed to come up with a model on how to revive the kwashiokor government. Where are we? No where.

EFCC is just disgraceful .

Is it through brute force that the naira will regain its lost value?

The parallel market works on the basis of demand and supply just like the DMBs FX window.

If cardoso wants to ban the operations of BDCs, he should issue a policy statement instead of these Gestapo styled attacks on lawful businesses.
Wellcome to the zoo, grin EFCC might start harrassing cement dealers, gas dealers, spare parts dealers, electronic, tyre and food stuffs
dealers, clueless government

what stopped the Igbos from doing what you are accusing the Yorubas of doing. Abi, Igbos are less human or Lilly livered to carry out such protest? You can start from Onitsha to Owerri nobody will stop you, it's your right
The difference is that the other two major tribes control the government and the law enforcement agencies.
Any protect from Igbos will be prosecuted .
But protest from those other tribes would be protected.
History has taught Igbos the lesson of self preservation. No Igbo will risk his or her life for a problem they did not create, while the main perpetrators suddenly go mute.
Any Igbo that dies in such protest only died a shameful and abominable death.

When you know that many EFCC officers are from the Nigerian Police you'd know they just wanted to steal people's hard currency that's all.

This is one areas I blame Tinubu govt. For crying out loud, I haven't seen anywhere people do forex business like Nigeria. I don't know of other Africa counties, but outside Africa, most countries restrict their forex to airport and the commercial banks. In Brazil it's a crime to transact business with foreign currency, not to talk of exchanging dollars on the street like Nigeria. That's is why in Nigeria most commercial banks are pushing their forex to the BDCs for more profits
Shut up bro. You haven't been to anywhere.

This business is existence in dubai, france, US and most developed countries. Nigeria is heavily dependent on imports hence the high demand for dollars.

Even in that same brazil currency and drugs trading exists very much

The government should service all valid dollar request through the bsnk and no one will go to aboki again.

But not clearing genuine requests of dollars and still wondering why it's increasing in black market is what I don't know.

Traders, importers etc all get their dollar from aboki that's fact
Isnt itbthe same banks that are sellimg to the BDC? Greed and corruption has finished Naija. Banks will always tell toubthat they dont have newly printed notes, but BDC always have available. Who give them?

The so-called Aboki currency black market speculators have NOT always been in Nigeria like you stated.

It was during the military era especially in the early 1990s that these so-called Aboki currency black markets fully came into existence. The military dictatorships and their cronies propped them up and engaged in round tripping or currency speculations.

It's even annoying that a lot of these illegal black marketers are NOT Nigerians and they have been allowed to engage in economic sabotage through round tripping.

No where in serious developing or developed countries are these kinds of black markets allowed to exist to avoid distortions in the economy.

Go to dubai and france and see for yourself. Don't sit in your village and conclude.

This business is everywhere. Your useless govt dey use una play

You fix official exchange rate for clearing good at $1,500 to naira and yet you want the abokii BDC to sell less than the official rate. You don’t want them to make profit from these looting politicians

Madam banks are complicit. Nigerians are just bad people, the monies would end up in the hands of Aboki. CBN should stop giving cash (dollars) to banks, all transactions must be processed electronically

BDC business should be declared illegal with immediate effect otherwise the Naira slide won’t stop

I'm only gonna respond to your post so that you don't mislead folks here. You didn't read my reply properly otherwise you would not have responded the way you did in a very uncouth manner.

Just to be very CLEAR, accredited BDCs exist in major countries of the world but NOT Illegal Aboki-style black market currency speculators which the EFCC had an altercation with.
The black market currency speculations is what I condemned here NOT accredited BDCs.

I'm a well-traveled man Internationally and incidentally have flown to those two geographical locations of the world that you quoted and more for business and leisure travels, so, I know what obtains Internationally.

Good job by EFCC! Lazy BDC operators should find something else to do; go to Airport and give Naira to incoming travellers in exchange for their currencies.

Seize their Dollars and send them to jail.

If you want to spend dollar, go to America and do that.

In a spine-chilling turn of events, the streets of Abuja became a battleground today as the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) clashed with Bureau De Change (BDC) operators in a nail-biting confrontation that left bystanders in utter shock.

Eyewitnesses describe the scene as something straight out of an action-packed thriller, as EFCC agents descended upon the BDC operators with an air of intensity rarely witnessed on the streets of the capital. With tensions already running high, the situation quickly escalated into a heart-stopping showdown as both sides refused to back down.

Caught in the midst of this terrifying spectacle, bystanders scrambled for safety as shouts filled the air and the sound of scuffling reverberated through the streets. Mobile phone cameras captured the chaos, with footage showing the intense standoff between the EFCC agents and the defiant BDC operators.

CBN should simply withdraw the license of all BDC operators in Nigeria. That is the only way to solve the problem of black market spectators creating inflation and scarcity of dollars.

They should be brought to book

They've done nothing wrong.
Truth be told, they are so entrenched that, if they are to be disengaged from the currency black market business, they need to be carried along in the process and their considerations have to be bought to the table before a new regime can be established. Harassment will not have any effect whatsoever.

If you clowns are honest about stopping the hoarding of the dollar, then BDC have to go then if you go further again, domiciliary accounts have to go,we must put an end to the dollarisation of our economy, hard times create hard leaders who in turn make hard decisions.

Lol.

Chasing rats while the house is on fire.

Who uses dollars the most in this country?

Is it not the same politicians? People who steal money, buy houses abroad, take thier numerous wh×res on foreign vacations, buy foreign cars in the thousands, sponsor thousands who have no business to copa.

Then they come around and start chasing people struggling to survive.

Those in political office should first bring out the dollars they have hoarded.
Re: EFCC Confronts BDC Operators In Abuja (video) by Hangulsaram: 1:08am On Feb 20
Nonsense, they always like to hold the wrong person accountable because of power. Why not go after the banks that CBN disbursed the money to for them to explain how they make uses of the dollars in their possession.
