For ages the north has been termed as the food basket of the nation.

70% of the food consumed in the south comes from the north.

In this economic hardship,why is that the north is worse hit with hunger.

Does it mean the north cannot feed herself despite the high government patronage

It's simple common sense. That region has not been agriculturally productive for almost a decade now due to the very HIGH rate of insecurity challenges. It's simple common sense.

Very simple. They have to sell almost all their produce to afford clothes, drugs and basic other needs. The little left can't sustain them.
