Blessedarethepe: Was there any subsidy savings? Have they not been saying that they are borrowing to pay for subsidy, and if true which savings are we talking about? |

Blessedarethepe: Nigeria was better because of the illusion brought about by high oil prices. Knowledgeable people were already warning us about the dangers of over reliance on oil even back then. This is why we need leaders who can think ahead, there's no alternative to that. |

Prioritise the need to stop subsidising nonsense in the country in the name of welcoming and supporting foreign investment. Government need to stop subsidising irrelevant things that we really don't need but had been made part of us and sweetened with subsidises making our local content to be looked upon with disdain. For example, Nigeria is the highest producer of Yam, yet the south West, South East, South South will keep chasing semolina, semovita, wheat as if their lives depend on. What is the essence of celebrating yam festivals that you don't really consume enough to render the need for wheat product like semovita, semolina e.t.c useless and stop wasting naira importing wheat. |

ElSudani: I expected this because I did not give more room for explanation of what I said. Nigeria's economy is burdened with challenges that the regular solutions which will adapt fluidly in the economy of other countries who don't have the experience of that we face. Any sane person knows that Nigeria should diversify its source of revenue and agriculture fits the bill but two things make it unable to fly here. First, the menace of herdsmen and kidnappers to farmers Secondly, the current inflation and hardship in the country needing urgent solutions rather than long term solutions Let these be solved first before any meaningful efforts in that direction can be made. |

Blessedarethepe: The subsidy money? Which subsidy money Have you invested any time to do any research on what is The problem? Keep The SUBSIDY money There is no subsidy money anywhere The goverment budgeted money for subsidy till May 2023 They did not pay one kobo in 2023 because they could not find any money and the only option was to borrow So even the subsidy till May 2023 is still owed to NNPC It has not been paid till now IMF. refused to lend them any money until they stopped subsidy There is no subsidy money anywhere You better update your knowledge and stop being deceived The government is funding almost everything with borrowed money. Buhari even sold oil that is still in the ground and used the money so oil that was produced to the end of 2023 and most of 2024 has already been sold and the money spent by Buhari. You are still talking of The subsidy money The subsidy money Dey play |

The present and past governors all need to be stoned to death. Can't they invest in agriculture? Always waiting for manna from the FG. The FG should tackle insecurity. And let all these useless governors deal with food security. |

iwaeda:Chairman of Cavista Holdings, Mr John Olajide, said that the multimillion naira investment in agribusiness was to ensure adequate supply of foods, improve nutrition, create jobs and foster community development. Olajide said that the crops of interest to the agro-allied farm were cassava, maize, and yam among others, saying that plans were afoot to commence the cassava revolution project in partnership with the Ekiti State Government to meet the rising demand for cassava chips in the export market and reduce post-harvest losses by at least 60 per cent. He said, “Agbeyewa Farm is meant to create value and transform lives. The main reason why we invested in Ekiti State is to create jobs and create opportunities for a lot of people. “We are doing experiments here with cassava to help farmers improve their yields. Those seedlings were given to the farmers to improve their lives and we incorporated the farmers into our outgrowers in our farm and do up to 10 hectares and get better yield. “One important thing is farmers struggle with access to the market. We’re working on the early stage of the cassava revolution project in partnership with the state government where we will get at least 100 hectares of cassava cultivated in the state. “It will reduce the over 60 per cent post-harvest loss, our goal is to eliminate post-harvest loss so that Ekiti farmers can create wealth through farming”, he added. |

post=128573670:But will herdsmen allow people to farm !! No they won't and the fed government keep paying lip service to this menace that is cursing our lives . The federal govt should start with these herdsmen men and bandit first, them encourage farmers to go to farm by giving providing subsidies to kick start farm operations. Secondly, remove any unwarranted duties levy by all govt agency from point of production to the end users and ensure farm produce are transported from the farm to their destination without undue charges on these goods . I think with this measures put it place it can somehow reduce the reduce the price of food stuff . We need deep thinkers .. we dont need a govt that only thinks of giving people handout in times of hunger and hardship in the land . They behave as if they are still campaigning. |
