Hehehe.

Ndume has been firing on all cylinders lately.

He is just acting as if he is a new elected senator.

In other words, Ndume is telling us that as dollars goes up, Nigeria government is very happy, while the masses a left to gnash their teeth in penury.

You can now see the game plan. They don't care about the masses. The funny thing is that almost half of the budget will be looted.

Government defenders over to you.
And some idiots will say those saving in dollars is an enemy of Nigeria

But the Nurudeen Olagunjus of the SW say that revenues from Lagos Ports are the number one source of funds for the federal government of Nigeria. Those Nurudeens benefited from Pa Awo's free education but deploy their education in a negative pathway. They are the stumbling blocks to all in the southern regions of Nigeria.

And the machineries and equipment used in road construction are manufactured in your country right? The expatriates too are paid in naira too ?
Leave this tribal sentiment. It's killing you and your people

tctrills:

The importation is mostly made by private businesses and not the federal government's budgets.
On the other hand, government projects such as roads are paid for in naira.
Salaries are paid for in naira.
So yes, it could be quite profitable for the government.

what do you mean it would be profitable for the government? Who is government? What is government? The primary aim of government policies must always be the welfare of the masses. With what this man said, he made a blunder and no person with indepth knowlege of Economics would say this.

U are talking as if u are not a Nigerian by asking who is the government and what is the government. The government are for few elites Chopin our money anyhow. The government "FG" not the people government are getting income on Dollar not naira. Whenever the Dollar is high, more income for them more suffering for the poor. Those who imports things are private individuals not government

Still half truth. One day one of them will spill the beans and "die". Their chests are choked and their hearts heavy but no courage to say what they know about the present catastrophe.

From the President to the NASS, the Governors to their members of the legislative Houses, are all beneficiaries of the current sufferings in the land

Nigeria's Armageddon is here.

Everyone should brace up.

So the President and members of the national assembly are behind the free fall of the naira, as we see.

With Ndume's comment we can all see that they benefit officially and privately.

Why go after BDC operators, etc, hearing the truth so far?

What do you mean what you talk about tribal sentiments? Economics is not about sentiments.
Now, the budget for all roads are in naira. So yes the fall of Naira may affect the private companies building the road but not the government. There may be a reduction in the profit of the construction company but not the FG.
Also let's talk about salaries that a paid in naira. It's clearly very profitable for the FG.

I expected this kind of challenges during the past administration but it never happened because they were benefiting from the criminal enterprises aspect of it.
They should give more challenges to this present administration so as things will be corrected before they take over power again.
I don't know why this administration don't want to take few of the corrupt elites down. So as the remaining one will sit up.

FG should realize that there is nothing that people of this country want to hear aside measures that will eliminate the ongoing poverty chain in the society. Public is not suppose to be aquatinted with daily dollar rate if government is taking good care of its citizens.

[quote author=Chummynoni post=128587665]Can you all see what a senator is saying? Is this not cluelessness in its raw form? I dont think this one has any idea of what inflation is, all he cares about is the high exchange rate which is even detrimental to an import dependant country like Nigeria. I am sure by now, he would be regretting spitting this after he is being called to notice by someone knowlegdeable . 99% of politicians do not care if the masses suffer or die, they are there for their selfish interest. This was evident during corona when they hoard palliatives. If that was not wickedness, tell me what it was.[/quote

This democracy system is not favouring Nigerians
Re: Tinubu Presented A Dollarised Budget, FG Benefitting From $/N Hike - Ndume by bitbillionaire: 1:27pm On Feb 22
The problem here is that crude oil export alone can't sustain the economy as big as Nigeria.

Ndume seems to forget that government earnings and spending alone can't do much to stimulate the economy. The entrepreneurs in the country equally play big roles in stimulating and growing the economy but unfortunately, they are the ones who are adversely affected by the falling value of the Naira.

So the issue here is not about the dollars federal government is earning.through crude oil; but the purchasing power of the masses that is being eroded and the high cost of living occasioned by the devaluation of Naira.
