Why Yoruba Should Not Partake In Anti Tinubu Protests by OreMI22: 12:33am On Feb 23
Let's face the truth: the economic challenges facing Tinubu during his 8 months in office stem from the economic mismanagement perpetrated by Buhari and his Ministers. In 8 years, Buhari oversaw the printing of N30 trillion Naira, depleted our foreign reserves from 52 billion dollars, and allowed the looting of the NNPC, all while claiming to be the "Petroleum Minister." Ministers like Hadi Sirika and Abubakar Malami looted billions from the state treasury. Shockingly, none of the Hausa/Fulani leaders and clerics, who now criticize Tinubu, raised concerns about Buhari's economic mismanagement!

Today, these same northern leaders, who remained silent during Buhari's tenure, are quick to call for protests or military intervention against Tinubu, who has been in office for less than a year!

Any Yoruba person who falls for this deception and participates in protests to destabilize Tinubu's government fails to honor the legacy of Oduduwa. Northern leaders should show Tinubu the same patience they showed their northern brother, Buhari.

Exactly!

While Tinubu may not be without faults, and I may not personally admire his methods, it's grossly unjust for those who remained silent as Buhari wreaked havoc on the Nigerian economy for 8 years to suddenly become vocal critics just because Tinubu isn't one of their own.

Lol…does is it even make common sense that a person would blame a government better than his for his woes? Under buhari a confirmed world record holder in failure- dollar was less than $700 , fuel was less than 200n but tinubu have shamelessly beaten that abysmal record. The shock is imagining somebody, a human being saw a dunce like tinubu as capable of fixing any problem in Nigeria.. audio Lagos miracle 😂

After this he and his supporters will hide their heads in shame, there is nothing they did not call this Tinubu, they almost called him Jesus, meanwhile he is just as empty as a drum without content but with a large dose of ego

Tinubu may be a corrupt politician, but it is very unfair for the same northern elders who kept silent and watched Buhari wreck and loot Nigeria’s economy for 8 years, only to now turn around and blame Tinubu for Nigeria’s economic woes just after only 8 months in office.

None of the northern leaders even mention Buhari at all in their criticisms! For them, all the loans and looting under Buhari never happened. It is Tinubu that depleted the foreign reserves and took all the massive foreign debts that we now use 98% of our revenue to service the interests on the loans.

I am glad that Igbos have already declared that they are not joining any silly protests against Tinubu. No right thinking Yoruba should join in this manipulation of northern elders to destabilize Tinubu. The same people that won’t even give Tinubu a year before calling for military intervention gave their own son Buhari 8 years to loot the economy and recklessly print 30 trillion naira that has contributed in making the currency worthless.

The biggest question is WHY protest against Tinubu who inherited a wrecked economy from Buhari.

Yet the same Hausa/Fulani elders who are now pushing for protests against Tinubu just after 8 months in office kept criminally silent for 8 years as their son looted and pillaged the Nigerian economy.

The point is WHY did the same northern elders and clerics who have suddenly found their voice to call for anti-Tinubu protests just after 8 months in office not do the same for 8 long years that Buhari systematically looted and destroyed the Nigerian economy? Even Peter Obi would not be able to clear the mess made by Buhari without some pain on the people.

If Tinubu were Hausa/Fulani, would they be calling for anti-Tinubu protests? Why the double standards on a man who has not even spent up to one year in office?

I love that Yoruba pastors have already seen through the deception of northern elders and religious leaders. All notable Yoruba pastors from Pastor Bakare to Adeboye are firmly united in saying that Tinubu is God's wish for Nigeria and therefore nobody should try to destabilize his government under the guise of hardship protests.

That is exactly what the northern religious leaders who are now calling for anti-Tinubu protests would have done if Tinubu were a Fulani President.

It is clear now to everyone that the double standards of citizenship rights in Nigeria is behind the entitlement mindset of the Fulani elites that Buhari can destroy the economy of Nigeria for 8 years and nobody will be called to protest or destabilize his government. But if a Yoruba man or any non-Fulani does not perform miracles in 6 months, northerners will be called to hit the streets and chase them out of power.

What a sick mindset! Especially when the current problems were caused by a Fulani President !

Did they hold anybody not to protest buhari regime?

Did Tinubu and his Emilokon crew not support buhari policies to the very last ?

Were others not called all manner of names by Tinubu men, including terrorists for verbally protesting buhari policies?

Why should people not protest Tinubulation govt? Igbos are not bound to protest because they consider it a waste of time.. more over they adapt far easier than any1 else ..but don't try to stop people that want to protest..it's their right. If Emilokon clan no protest buhari ,it was not out of love, but out of what they hoped to get after buhari. So don't even bring the morality angle to it

Exactly. We know those planning to use the smokescreen of "hardship protest" to truncate democracy in Nigeria. Where were these same people for 8 long years when Buhari kept increasing petrol prices, the dollar kept rising from 200 naira to 750 naira due to illegally printing money, taking massive loans, and squandering the foreign reserves that was hitherto $52 billion in 2015? They all kept quiet because Buhari was Fulani man and therefore their son!

Now, a Yoruba is on the seat and trying to clean the mess created by Buhari, they couldn't even have the patience to give him one year in office before calling for protests against him and even a fatwa on his wife.

Why is Tinubu not going after the above mentioned looters?

Tinubu himself is not a saint. It is the same APC people that looted and he will never go after them. The same way he would never criticize Buhari in public for depleting the foreign reserves that could have been used to cushion the effects of dollar scarcity and stabilize the naira.

Those looters know Tinubu will do NOTHING to them. That is why they keep threatening him using their foot soldiers and clerics and intend to even use Yorubas and Igbos to destabilize him by their so-called "hardship protests". Meanwhile, the same people calling on Yorubas and Igbos to come and protest against Tinubu did not call for protests against Buhari. Nor did they even join protests against Police brutality during End Sars because they did not want any protests at all that could be used as a reason to destabilize their son's government. But they have found their voices now against Tinubu!
