Motorists and residents of the Olodo community in Egbeda Local Government Area of Ibadan, Oyo State, are appealing to Governor Seyi Makinde for urgent intervention following the collapse of a vital bridge.

The bridge, which connects Ibadan to Iwo in Osun State, served as the primary link for commuters between the two cities. However, heavy rainfall on Thursday led to severe flooding, washing away the bridge and leaving hundreds stranded.

Despite ongoing reconstruction efforts on the Ibadan-Iwo Road, residents lamented the lack of progress and pleaded for immediate action to address the situation.

Kazeem Alabi, a student at The Polytechnic, Ibadan, expressed frustration at the lengthy delays caused by the collapsed bridge, urging authorities to expedite the road's completion.

Commercial driver Abasi Olayemi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for swift action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

Meanwhile, resident Lekan Anjorin recounted missed opportunities and disrupted plans due to the bridge's collapse, highlighting the urgent need for a resolution.

As residents continue to grapple with the aftermath of the flood, their plea for assistance underscores the pressing need for infrastructure maintenance and disaster preparedness in the region(@NaijaAnchorNews )
