How many country he visited and he saw there citizens selling and buying dollar by the road side

They can never mind there God damn business.

If your problem is selling things on the road side then most businesses in Nigeria should be closed.

Come to Amsterdam or go to Antwerp you will exchange money off the street. Granted not like they line up in Nigeria case but they are there operating.

You never leave your house how you wan take know how the world works.

the fact that production is part of our problem doesn't mean if the dollar moves to 15k naira to a dollar we would accept.
Yes lack of production is a problem but don't exploit us beyond our reach.

Let's just say they are making money off our inability.

Even if we start a global scale production today, APC will still give you a reason why $ is high.

Those ones in Antwerp have a license to operate and are regulated by the Financial services authority in that country.

Are the common ones in Nigeria regulated?

In addition, I do not think the only thing government is doing to stabilize the naira is just going after BDCs alone.

Luckily, in my case, I have been to Amsterdam, Paris, London, Leeds, Manchester, Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, Frankfurt, and several other cities in the world. .

Tinubu is not ready to fix this country.o fi ote si le, o n pa lapalapa. I have been saying this, when he is ready, he will squeeze buhari and his cronies by their balls to vomit all the $ they stole. Reduce cost of governance, and reduce states' monthly allocation because these !diots are only spending free money, then combat insecurity tinubu by increasing the salaries of Soldiers,so that our people can go back to farm.

Go to Amsterdam, Brussels, Antwerp, Rotterdam you will find their equivalent of Mallams.

We have the habit of destroying people's business as a way of punishment.

Government could have simply given them 2 weeks to register and that their representative should bring the list of registered Mallams in their district.

During a raid if an unregistered Mallams are seen government will fine the Mallams in charge of that area 5 million naira for each unregistered Mallam operating there and the fine should be paid within 5 business day or they will be prosecuted and their licence withdraw.

That way the Mallams will also be part of the enforcers no business destroyed no body is being harassed, government is making cool cash and mallams are feeding their children.

APC can use the idea I won't complain as long as it moves the country forward.
I think what you said is what the govt is doing.
They are trying to regulate it to ensure accurate record keeping of it's activities.

the cbn is acting more like they are in competition with the bdc operators.
the official rate the cbn peg the dollars is still high and most likely will result to the bdc operators selling higher.

fight corruption holistically
stop wattages by public office holders
stop thieves, politicians who have stored monies in naira from converting them to dollars and re storing them.
be a massive production exporting country .

Isn't it still the same BDC converting the stolen naira to dollars? Una keep going round in circles

The naira has been on steady appreciation, since all the reforms and crackdown are going on.

Check the rate this morning.

incase you no know, know now, I can reliably inform you that the BDC'S were forced and threatened by the government to reduce the price of the dollar or face the consequences, so this reduction is temporarily fixed it MAY not be sustained. Which economic gains or production has the country made in a short period of time to reduce the dollar? even the toothpick is backed by the dollar in Nigeria cos without dollars to buy from China or wherever , Der will no toothpick in the whole of Nigeria that why the naira is overstretched, we need to be productive for ourselves nd we also need to export, so the naira won't be changed to the dollar for trivia tins and countries will bring in dollars to buy from us.

There is no place in any developed country, that you will find trading of foreign currencies carelessly on the streets like in nigeria, both registered and unregistered, illiterates etc, that do not not even know the basic knowledge of economy are allowed to free-trade the currencies in nigeria. I am in support of clamping down on the street trade and I am suggesting apart from the airports, every other currency trade should be down in the banking hall, every bank should create a space for a registered bdc transaction for a better monitoring.

Which country have you been to??

Deceiving his obirodents. How do you move from consumption to production without first investing, where is the technical know how, where are the machineries, where is the electricity, how do to you compete with advanced nations with our current high cost of production. How do you import at a high price without first stabilising the Naira.
If you think trying to increase our income by first bringing back our refinery wooing investors is wrong then consumption to production does not happen by just saying it.

Stop talking nonsense. You and PO have fish brain. These are criminals who work to destroy the exchange rate, they receive stolen money and help fraudulent banks to launder money and buy all dollars for keep. Are these what peter obi supports. He is obviously mad in doing so.

Some Nigerians lack understanding and critical thinking. Whenever Peter Obi makes statements, they unquestioningly support him. Do the countries he refers to allow unrestricted street trading of foreign currencies? Is there a limit to the amount the BDCs can exchange per transaction? Despite the proximity of the USA and Canada, you won't find USD being freely exchanged on the streets of Canada. In fact, bringing USD to Canada allows for only limited daily exchanges up to 1k and properly documented. "In Nigeria, BDCs are often used to launder stolen Naira. Stolen Naira can be exchanged for USD at any rate because it was stolen and due to the lack of monitoring and regulation in place. many countries like Yemen and Somalia, which have similar systems, are grappling with issues such as insecurity, arms smuggling, and various forms of violent crimes.

Peter Obi is shouldn't let his pain of losing override his sensibilities, the naira has been on steady appreciation ever since CBN begun its crack down. Wouldn't be surprised if Peter Obi owns many of these road side BDCs. He should just shut up. Commend when you have to Commend , condemn when you have to condem.
