I have read with utter despair the insinuations and outright sentiments and narratives being pushed online about who really put us in this mess.

We all know that the APC have been in government for about 9 years now. During this period, Tinubu an ally of Buhari consistently approved of all, but one of Buhari's policies. Tinubu supported Buhari's unguarded borrowings, he supported Buhari's team in fleecing the country. Not once did Tinubu criticize nor intervened in halting Buhari's destructive tendencies.

Some of us saw the state ship headed for a disastrous end and warned. What did Tinubu and APC supporters call us, "WAILERS". In fact some taunted us that we were still suffering from GEJ electuon loss. Even as wailers, we kept on wailing for the country until Buhari handed over to Tinubu based on an election described as one of the worst in developing economy.

Well Buhari drove us to a cliff and all we needed was a leader to steer the rudder of this enormous ship off the cliff edge. But since a drug addict was entrusted with statecraft, he did the unthinkable. His inaugural speech, colorless as it was carried a devastating blow to a fragile economy like ours. He, without thinking announced an end to fuel subsidies. Forgetting that it would have a far-reaching impact on the economy. So much about "hitting the ground running". This turned to hitting the ground with broken feet and spine. Next he floated the Naira, a thing never done nor conceived in the over 63 years of Nigeria existence. Again, we warned against the twin hydra-headed impact of these rash decisions. Now they called us "Obi supporters" and IPOB. Again, they taunted us with hangover of elections loss.

As if that was not enough, Tinubu picked fight with our neighbours to the north. Thank God that the northerners prevailed on him, a war with Niger would have destroyed Nigeria completely.

Then, he decided to rescind all control over forex, reversed currency change and pumped Trillions into the economy, reverse import restrictions and went on to borrow more to finance consumption. In addition, he created the largest cabinet in Nigeria history. Spent the largest amount in appeasing NASS with borrowed funds at a time the economy was only having 5%, yes, you read well 5% net revenue.
Then he went ahead to gather a stupendous and most grandiose team of "financial and business" experts, first on a jamboree to India. Next he took the second largest contingent to Dubai, where we lavished our little foreign reserve on estacodes and hotel expenses. He then took another large contingency to New Yirk and rented the world most expensive presidential suite.

Now, we are broke. Forex has gone hay-wire. Fuel landing cost has gone off the roof to the point that we are secretly paying more subsidies than it was before May 29, 2023. Infact information is that we are paying over N50 bilion Naira daily to sustain the N670 pump prize. That is approximately N23.5 Trillions in a year. That is 36% of our total 2024 budget (both capital and reccurent).

The people are now hungry, inflation in the real sector is about 49%. Households are now competing displaced, NLC that initially demanded N200000 minimum wage, now ask for N1m.

Then, do you still doubt who put us in this big mess? Noone did than Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Like he himself admitted sometimes ago, the buck stops at his desk.

So let those pushing the narrative that Buhari destroyed the economy go and rest. Tinubu put us in this mess and should be held to account.

As expected, you can start your abusive language. It is in your nature, not just your character.

APC created the real hunger in the land. The reason being that the economic package of APC right from Buhari was nothing to write some about. They are only interested in blame game and propaganda instead of appointing those technocrats who are hand the economy as an economist who know economic indicators for growth and how to sustain those indicators for economic growth and development.
