Amina’s Story
Life they say is unfair but God is faithful, this is the clear case of Amina a 25 year old Photographer. Amina just graduated from the University with a degree in Journalism, She has always nursed a desire to be a photographer, and with the little money she had, she bought a Camera.
Amina was very overwhelmed with joy when she got a camera, but she taught within herself that now she can fulfill her dream and be successful in life. Amina's joy was truncated when she discovered that it was difficult to get freelance gigs from the most renowned Newspaper organizations in her country because the industry is saturated with a lot of professional photographers. Most times when she meets managers of Newspaper organizations soliciting for gigs they will tell her "We will get back to you" which they don't eventually fulfill. Sometimes Amina will follow them up but there is no positive response.
Amina kept struggling to get photography gigs both online and offline but the more she tried the more it became difficult. She managed to secure a gig with a local newspaper as their freelance photographer. The stipend is small and Amina has an aged mother to take care of. One day Amina got home very late after having a hectic day, she met her mother very hungry and fragile; her mother said she had not eaten anything since morning. Amina used the little money she had to get her mother something to eat. Amina then went to her room to get some sleep but she couldn't sleep she cried all through the night feeling discouraged about the challenges of life.
One day, Amina posted some of her photos on her Facebook page, and a renowned artist saw it and contacted Amina, Amina sent her portfolio to him, and he was impressed and hired Amina to be his personal Photographer. Amina was very happy and she leant that she should never give up in life because there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
