Lokoja, Kogi State - In a remarkable display of bravery and tactical precision, Nigerian Army troops have successfully rescued ten passengers who were abducted by kidnappers during their journey from Calabar to Abuja. This harrowing incident unfolded at the Ogugu Community along the Enugu-Kogi Road, located within the confines of Olamaboro Local Government Area in Kogi State.

The daring rescue operation was set into motion following a distress call received by the military, alerting them to the dire situation faced by the travelers. The passengers were aboard a Peace Mass Transit bus when they were intercepted by armed kidnappers, who forcefully diverted them from their path and into the dense foliage of the nearby Ette forest.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Nigerian Army troops promptly mobilized and launched an offensive against the kidnappers' hideout. The engagement that ensued was intense, with the military and kidnappers exchanging heavy gunfire. The resilience and superior firepower of the Nigerian Army proved to be overwhelming for the kidnappers, compelling them to abandon their captives and flee the scene.

The successful rescue of the ten passengers is a testament to the Nigerian Army's unwavering dedication to the safety and security of the nation's citizens. Major General Onyema Nwachukwu, the Nigerian Army spokesman, lauded the troops for their courage and effectiveness in neutralizing the threat posed by the kidnappers.

This operation not only highlights the Nigerian military's proactive stance against kidnapping and banditry but also serves as a stern warning to criminal elements that the armed forces remain vigilant and ready to defend the country's peace and security at all costs. The Nigerian Army's commitment to combating criminality and ensuring the safety of the populace remains steadfast, as evidenced by this commendable rescue mission.

One day the story will end with actually catching the kidnappers and gaining USEFUL intelligence from them as per their sponsors and extent of their network and modus operandi. ONE DAY.

God bless Army.

Nigeria military and the use of 'superior power' in their statements.

Good that the victims are free. But why didn't the 'superior power' hit any of the kidnappers? Seems the kidnappers have 'superior escape plan'.
