adenigga:You know that no messiah of president under the present governance system can make the current hardship in Nigeria stop. You politicians can't tell yourselves the truth because you are harnessing crude oil revenues for your pockets while the masses suffer. Restructure Nigeria politically for the country to be manageable. Arewa sharia states had drawn the boundaries of their Arewa lslamic Republic but clutches tight to the unitary government system because of lucre in the south. |

benuejosh: And whu are these people ?? is FG lesser to them ?? and the present hyperinflation is it really "Hoarding" or "Imaginary enemies" per say have you thought of the ripple effect of subsidy removal in a country where fuel cut across all production & distribution local productions are @ all time below bar cos of insecurity challenges and high cost of production, how will companies & farmers stay afloat without hiking prices most goods that supplement our products in market are throttle to seaport which enforces the burden of "dollar".... with contra bands levy & high import duties what do we expect. Are saboteurs the real challenge, or the govt is avoiding real issues ... Nigerians keep making sacrifices for local production that as refuse to grow, instead of govt proposing to import food & share Why can't the govt open land borders for Nigerians to sort themselves |

grandstar:Even without hiking the interest rate. Naira will still return to #1200/$. If you check the other WA currencies with Naira and it's Dollar value. Naira should be around #1200/$. 12cedi=1$=#1200 so I keep wondering why Naira to Dollar is 1600. I am not an economist tho. Just an Engineer & a business man. |

grandstar: Very good comment. I largely agree. Very strange to read economic sense from a Nigerian. Weird. The airports and sea ports should be handed over to the states. Major bridges should be privatized via auction. The two Niger Bridges in Southern Nigeria would be a good experiment. Competition will force them to shape up. Government ownership is bad but FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ownership is the worst of all because it's a monopoly. And it can print money to cover losses. You want a tax cut. I say all income tax, both corporate and personal and also PROPERTY taxes, should be abolished Establish a VAT tax in the CONSTITUTION and cap it at 9%...in the Constitution. If God requires a 10% tithe surely Government can do with less. The Petroleum Industry Act, Solid Minerals Act and Land Use Act should be abolished and enforcing private property rights made a national priority. On naira rate the currency should simply be floated. Just float and be done. I think interest rates are too high in Nigeria and the naira is too strong. Yours is a mind in the right place. Good Luck to Nigeria. 1 Like |
