Hisbah Commander Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa Resigns Amid Government Interferen by Abdul9025(m): 9:38am On Mar 01 |
In a surprising turn of events, Hisbah Commander Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa has tendered his resignation from his position. This move comes in the wake of increased government interference in Hisbah activities within the Kano state, where he was appointed by the newly elected governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf. The resignation is a notable development, shedding light on the ongoing challenges faced by religious police forces in maintaining their autonomy. Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, who had been entrusted with leading Hisbah, took this decisive step due to what he perceived as undue involvement by the government in the organization's affairs. The tipping point appears to be the controversial case involving TikTok influencer Murja Ibrahim Kunya. The government's recent intervention in matters related to Murja Ibrahim Kunya drew criticism and raised eyebrows, possibly contributing to Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa's decision to step down. The departure of such a prominent figure from Hisbah leadership underscores the delicate balance required in managing the intersection of religious enforcement and governmental influence. As the repercussions of this resignation unfold, it prompts broader discussions about the autonomy of religious bodies and their ability to function independently within the framework of state governance. What on Earth is a 'religious Police force'?? That's a load of rubbish, only seen in countries run by religious nutters. Since when did Nigeria turn into an Islamic country that it has a bunch of thugs to enforce what goes against their faith. I thought Nigeria was meant to be a secular country, not Iran. This is crap. This whole religious Sharia is vile and shouldn't exist in a secular country in the first place. How can you judge or slag off something as bad just because it goes against your religion. I don't get it! 1 Like |

Hehehe . The man is bittered that the government didn't allow him to carry out his barbaric and archaic practice on the citizens. The ones who brought religion to Africa have evolved from all these practice, but Africa is still stock with such practice. Even Saudi has loosen up. |
