This type of mob looting of vehicles is a completely new development in Nigeria, a nation where petty thieves are typically beaten to death and set aflame by baying lynch mobs. The social consciousness that deters average Nigerians from participating in theft, has in the past few weeks begun to erode to the extent that thievery and mass looting frenzies are coming to be regarded as normal ways to "make a living" out on the mean streets of Nigeria's towns and cities. The natural progression that typically ensues when hunger-crazed swarms of people completely lose their fear of punitive mob lynching and unhesitatingly engage in theft out of pure survival instinct, is likely to play out in the form of a military coup organized by mid-level officers who could at any moment regard the unfolding hunger-induced anarchy spreading in Nigeria, as their cue to make a bid for the national treasury by seizing power in a coup that may or may not be bloody. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnI6pe7rqbM 2 Likes 1 Share |

Hehehe. This menace is shameful.it has to stop. On the other hand, this index is one of the characteristics of a failed state. APC and their supporters can't see anything going on, because they are blinded by sentiment. The government must show commitment, not just promises, but be pragmatic. All we hear from them is,we will,we are going to,we promise to release food from food bank. The hunger go go round. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Last week on channels TV, someone advised Tinubu to speak to Nigerians regularly on why the country is in this mess and what his administration is doing to reduce hardship so that the less educated poor Nigerians will understand it's not his fault. But Tinubu is just going round the world as far as visiting Qatar recently. He forgot the bloody revolution that almost took place during endsars protest. These greedy and selfish, nepotic political leaders think they can predict what poor Nigerians can do. They have to be very careful this time. 19 Likes 1 Share |

And what have this story got to do with staging a coup? If anyone is trying to hear what we think, about any coup, WE ARE NOT INTERESTED, WE ARE NOT IN SUPPORT, MAKE UNA PARK WELL, nigerians chose tinubu as president and those that may stage whatever coup, also voted like every one else, personally I don't see any military govt that will be better than what is happening now, where are they coming from, are they not nigerians, let's face it, the average nigerian, about 95% are corrupt, and doesn't love nigeria, 95% of the problem of nigeria is that 95% of nigerians hate nigeria, they actually believe and correctly too that nigeria will break up one day and that is why anyone that gets there will turn to his side and get as much as they can before the imminent break up. No one from the remaining 5% will be allowed to get there. The same people who are suffering most are the ones who will still vote this same person or his type again only because of tribal reasons. No one should disturb us with this threat of coup again. I have spoken 3 Likes 1 Share |

denko: No sir you are dead wrong with this false claim that the looting of trucks is limited to the north of Nigeria. A couple of days ago this same scene of anarchy played out in Lagos with hordes of people looting trucks conveying food. This is NOT a localized phenomenon. It is spreading to all parts of the nation and the soldiers are watching with keen interest as the nation descends into utter nihilistic chaos. 11 Likes 1 Share |

mbaise1000: I share your opinion that the absolute worst thing that could ever befall ANY nation is a military takeover of federal power because once that happens, accountability goes out the window along with the constitution, allowing the military power usurpers to loot the treasury under the pretext of restoring sanity and stability to governance while brutally repressing any signs of dissent from the restless population by force of arms. That said, all the prerequisites and precursors of a military coup are currently falling into place for Nigeria as the growing hunger of the populace leads to increasingly reckless acts of desperation by stampeding hunger-crazed flash-mobs of bellowing people in the street. Prudent changes of policy MUST be taken by any government whose population is tending towards anarchy because widespread civil disorder is the PRIMARY state of affairs that leads to coup plotting in military barracks. 4 Likes 4 Shares |

crossfm: I condemned PDP then but now I see that APC is beyond condemnation. They took us from a country where people can protest with dignity to a country where people are protesting with indignity. Indignity is when you don't care anymore even if you die because of food. You start behaving like baboons in the zoo. Have you seen how baboons behave? I cry when I see this. It is easy for me to type here, hungry people cannot even think well to start using logic to act right. Nigerians are now poor and wicked because they have been thoroughly impoverished by APC. It is obvious that they have no plan as a party. Unfortunately, PDP has slept a long time ago. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Jakumo: You think say coup na beans. Nigeria presently does not have the crop of army that can dare such. They are in highway collecting tolls or escorting oil company staff. Their focus is their pocket. Obasanjo retired all the rugged and stubborn soldiers when he was president 2 Likes |

crestedaguiyi: Interesting bit of history there about Obasanjo retiring the bold ones among the military top brass. One can only hope you are right about there currently being no military officers capable of coup planning because the only beneficiaries of any military coup are the military officers who participate, and certainly NOT the hapless population. 1 Like |

An amount you can't refuse or give a second thought let alone telling somebody to advice you. Any junior officer that presently tries to start anything against the leadership of the army is crushed with cruel punishment 1 Like |
