For the attention of Peter Obi and other half baked illiterates like him. Ukraine is a world leader in food production. The world still depends on Ukraine for food especially wheat, sunflower oil and other grains. INDEPENDENT, FACT-BASED JOURNALISM. WORLD NEWS Farmers march in Poland’s capital, cut off roads in Spain to protest Ukraine imports and EU policies 0:00 Thousands of farmers marched in the Polish capital of Warsaw on Tuesday, Feb.27, to protest against European Union agricultural policies and imports of cheap food from neighboring Ukraine. The farmers want Poland’s border with Ukraine sealed to the imports of grain and other food products that they say are bringing down the prices farmers can get on the domestic market. They also want the Polish government to withdraw from the EU’s Green Deal, a plan meant to fight climate change and help the environment with measures that they say are too costly. (AP video: Rafal Niedzielski) Photos 12 BY VANESSA GERA Share WARSAW, Poland (AP) — Thousands of farmers marched in Poland’s capital and Spanish farmers cut off traffic on highways near the French border on Tuesday in the latest protests against food imports from Ukraine and the European Union’s agricultural policies. The actions follow similar protests across Europe in recent weeks, and come as the West is experience growing fatigue in helping Ukrainians as they try to push back Russia’s invasion. Farmers and their supporters blew horns and burned smoke bombs in the white-and-red colors of the national flag in front of the Polish parliament in Warsaw before marching to the offices of Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Warsaw city hall estimated that 10,000 people took part. Protesters want a withdrawal from the EU’s Green Deal, a plan meant to fight climate change and help the environment with measures that they say are too costly. The protesters are also demanding a ban on the imports of Ukrainian grain and other produce and allege that poorer quality Ukrainian produce is harming the country’s food supply and putting its important agricultural sector in jeopardy. They are angry at the EU for lifting tariffs on Ukrainian food imports while Ukraine — a major food producer — sought ways get its food to global markets with war hampering transport in the Black Sea. IkeOnyia: It's most shameful that this most learned OP proudly calling others illiterate doesn't know that the word "illiterates" doesn't exist. "Illiterate" can only be used as an adjective and can't have an "s" plural inflection. But when you ask these media miscreants to go to school, they will ask you "how about Tinubu?" Thank goodness, the whole country is reaping the pains of Tinubu's fraudulent education and forgery. Ebin mpawa na your mate? I pity the so-called Associated Press who engaged a deformed writer like you. Oh sorry, Associated Press is also a fraud. Oluwole people! 14 Likes |

Ofunaofu:Peter Obi is an hypocrite. In the picture below. His tummy is likely filled with donated Ukrainian wheat which the Egyptians must have fed him It is very ignorant for Peter Obi to say that it is a "national disgrace" for Nigeria to receive food aid from Ukraine because it is a war-torn country. Peter Obi needs to be educated about Ukraine and wheat. 2 Likes

OP, you get sense at all? Do you know the difference between wheats imports and wheats donated as aids? The US is importing and paying for their wheats, while the wheats are being donated to Nigeria as aids Why compare the situation with the US and Nigeria? It is foolish to say Ukraine even send wheat to US, because US is paying for it. 1 Like |

so some foolish individuals are cheering food importation from abroad , even from a war torn country like Ukraine for that matter. Tomorrow they will turn around to brain the citizens for not producing enough. If Ukraine can produce enough wheat to export, what can Nigeria produce in large quantity and export? Tribalism, Hypocrites, criminals and poverty. Useless, jobless and evil people on the internet |
