Over the past year, the price of cocoa has increased from about $2,300 to the current all-time high of $9,010 per tonne, at the New York Commodities Exchange. This, coupled with recent devaluation of Nigeria’s currency, the Naira, means that farmers are not just smiling, but grinning ear-to-ear all the way to the banks.
