This afternoon, tragedy struck the peaceful town of Anyigba, located in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, as armed robbers launched a brazen assault on two major banks, leaving the community in shock and mourning the loss of a life. In a violent spree that disrupted the calm of the day, the criminals targeted First Bank and then Access Bank, carrying out successful robberies at both locations.

According to an eyewitness account to The Bureau Newspaper, the violent encounter claimed the life of Mr. Danlami, a staff member of Access Bank, who served as a security guard. He was fatally gunned down by the armed robbers during their attack, casting a shadow of grief over the town and his colleagues.

A close friend of the late Mr. Danlami told The Bureau Newspaper that Mr. Danlami, until his death, was the breadwinner of his family. He left behind a wife, three kids and relatives.

The day's tranquility was shattered by the sound of gunfire, spreading panic among the residents as the robbers executed their meticulously planned heist. The community has been left reeling from the rapid unfolding of these violent events.

In a prompt response to calls for assistance, Nigerian Navy personnel were dispatched to the scene, engaging the robbers in a fierce gun battle. The conflict between the security forces and the robbers continues as efforts are being made to secure the area and apprehend those responsible for this heinous crime.

The killing of Mr. Danlami has drawn particular attention to the risks faced by security personnel in the line of duty, highlighting the dangers that lurk even in seemingly safe environments. As the town of Anyigba grapples with the aftermath of this tragedy, the focus remains on bringing the perpetrators to justice and restoring peace to the shaken community.

May his soul rest in peace. Security companies should be mandated to do life insurance for their employees. How will this man's wife and his children cope now?

Na Navy come for the fight. Hmmm!

The robbers made blood money but fools claim there is nothing like blood money. Do you know the worst? By the time the robbers begin to display their unexplained wealth, social media will hype them. If you dare to ask for their identities and the business or professions that gave them the money, fools will tell you to shut up. The fools will ask you if you have investigated the source of people's poverty. If any of the robbers builds a house for a homeless person in his village and you comment "May he be blessed if the source of the money is godly", the same fools will tell you to shut up. The fools will say there is nothing like blood money.

Good question? Since no government official or bank official will probably answer you let me pitch in, Its because its to secure themselves against the public(common man)(everyone) the whites call this clever by half. The remaining population will be like its not me or my family(God forbid) Nigerians never ceases to amaze me.

Those arm rubbers are the kind of people, the society adores.
I wonder how they go home to enjoy their family after cutting short the life of someone's else breadwinner.
In future, those involved in these kind of criminality will eventually buy their way into politics. Then people start wondering why politicians don't have human sympathy.

To be a security guard at a bank in Ayigba/Owo is worse than being sent to the frontlines to fight Boko Haram.

At least soldiers have guns to fight the insurgents, but these security guards are at the mercy of the heartless robbers.

What a sad end to a promising young man.

Some jobs are not worth doing. I can't risk my life to do this type of job even for millions of naira, knowing fully well that my life is at risk every second of the day. Rip to him.

Would had lost a close friend like this during Ekiti robbery years ago.

Anything security in a bank, I won't advise my enemy to take such job.

No robber deserves a prison, let them experience the most painful dead know humanity.

Stick a burning oil pin into their dickhole, while someone else is de-skinning then and another blasting their nuts with hammer, their butthole being filled with burning oil... All these happening simultaneously as a doctor tries everything possible to make sure they don't die instantly until after all the tortures.
