NETFLIX cannot charge Nigerians too much because they know we'll definitely find alternative (especially if it's possible to by pass). I once subscribed to STARZ but after a serious search, I found an alternative that won't cost me a dime.

In Nigeria, whatever we can't find, does not exist. cheesy cheesy cheesy

I think it's because of behavior rather than purchasing power when it comes to Nigeria. A Nigerian will rather download free movies than pay for a subscription that's reoccurring.

Plus you also have to factor in the cost of internet in Nigeria, so even if you're a subscriber, it's expensive to watch when you factor in the data costs too.

To be honest! Nigeria is one of the most cheapest country to live...

If not for the common basic amenities we lack like

Security
Electricity
Unemployment...

Nigeria would have been one of the best country to live and start a family...

We could hav Recived couple of foreigner coming in to retire in our country... but the government are selfish set of people..
It's cheapest for dollar/Euro/ pound earners.
A bag of rice is 3 months minimum wage. How cheap is that for Nigerians earning Naira?

I pay N4,400 monthly for the full subscription package, thats about $2.93 and thats the exact amount i have been paying for 4 years now.

Netflix is very understanding, thats why i stopped paying for DSTV, any small thing, they don increase price.

Who's is still paying for Netflix subscription, I watch Netflix movies absolutely for free no subscription with the premium APP.... And I also setup CPA marketing campaign for it

Nigeria was about the lowest if not. We spend 60% on food averagely so not much disposable income to go after Netflix with.


The statistic is not about how much is available to dispense on it, but how much it actually cost to be accessed.

Internet access is also a factor to Netflix charges. All these countries with high subscription have cheap internet access while those that have cheap Netflix charges have high internet charges.

if the Nigerian government sees that Nigerians pay $4.48, it will not be happy. it will say that it is too low and that it wants to remove the subsidy on netflix

That's what Nigerian government cannot do. The purchasing power has been decimated by devaluation, subsidy removal and inflation, yet this coconut head government don't want to do anything about it.
