You're shortsighted and that's your problem. If the Governor would attrack a couple of investors to the state, the airport will witness traffick. it'd be useful for future investments alongside growing population. The thread isn't even about ebonyi airport but the quality of work Umahi is determined to achieve going by similar quality of jobs he did as governor but a mischievous individual like you wouldn't understand.

It is poor quality of job he supervised that is making flights not to depart nor land at the Airport.

The present Governor who is Umahi's boy said the runway of the commissioned airport is substandard as it was wrongly done, affecting the tyres of aircrafts, reason the present Governor is spending over N10b to rectify lapses identified by the Nigeria civil aviation authority before flights could be cleared to fly that route (it is in the news, not figment of one's imagination).....so, who is the mischievous one?

If the price of cement had reduced drastically after the contract was awarded, would they had refunded some money to the government?

If they were paid 100% then what Umahi is doing would have made sense but what Government does is mobilize you phase by phase and mind you the first so called mobilization is where the contractor pays kickbacks from after which he has to source funds from bank at certain interest rate. If there's delay in payment after completion of one phase then his debt will continue to pile up.

you think a billion dollar project negotiated when cement was n3500 will run when cement is n11,000?

The issue is not so much about when it was negotiated but how long after the negotiations were they paid?

Why did they delay in moving to site after they received first payment?

I know many smaller contractors that have been guilty of what they are trying to pull off. Some legitimate and others scavengers

Hmmm..... they already have the money .... will there be a refund?... what penalty is in the contract if they failed to do as in the contract? Who was in government was responsible for quality control? ... what were they doing all along? The problem is ... no consequences.

But are we saying that up till now we don't have an indigenous company to handle construction project? Almost all the roads construction in this country is supervised by foreigners which is not good.

Nigeria is overrated. So you expect a country that cannot generate electricity or provide pipe borne water or refine its crude or produce toothpicks to have competent indigenous construction companies?

Which contract?

Did the same Umahi not commission the white elephant project he built called an airport, with fanfare?

You are filled with hatr*d if you thinks Ebonyi international Airport is a white elephant project.

Instead of terminating the contract he is threatening.

Terminate it let others learn.
WARNING before termination. He deserves our support not sarcasm.

Okay, it is a blue elephant project....you happier now? cheesy cheesy cheesy

I guess Ebonyians will lose more if the over N40b Umahi spent on the project was used to purchase 100s of tractors, thousands of hand-held rice harvesters, thousands of simple mobile rice threshers and set up irrigation systems in many rice farming communities so they can grow rice and sell rice all year round ...I guess that is white elephant projevts in the world you operate in? cheesy cheesy cheesy

We have lots of Local construction companies in Nigeria doing great jobs like:

1. Setraco Nigeria Limited

2. Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company Nigeria Limited

3. Ray Royal Construction Company Limited

4. PW Nigeria Limited

5. Sammya Nigeria Limited

6. Roadstone Nigeria Limited

7. Lubrik Construction Company Limited

8. Aniibol Engineering and Construction

9. Craymond Nigeria Limited

10. Interfem Reconstruction Company Limited

11. MacGeorge Nigeria Limited

12. Okmas Nigeria Limited

13. Adex Group of Companies Nigeria Limited

14. Diamond Development Company Limited

15. H&M Nigeria Limited Civil Construction

16. Lubrik Construction Company Limited
Roadstone Nigeria Limited.

The only problem is that they are very corrupt, they do inflate the cost of the contract.
The owners of these companies like to employ foreign engineers from China, India, and Lebanese, to manage the company
