A female passenger, identified as Nimotalahi Ishola, on Saturday night, jumped into the lagoon while onboard a ferry at Igando area, Alimosho local government area of Lagos State.

The incident happened around 9pm on Saturday, shortly after the boat left the Isuti Jetty in Igando community en route Totowu in Ogun State.

Nimotalahi was said to be in the boat with 11 other passengers when she suddenly pulled off her life jacket and jumped into the lagoon in what looked like a suicide.

A plastic bottle of an insecticide was said to be found in one of the belongings she left behind in the boat.

Policemen have visited the scene of the incident while a search party had been constituted to recover her corpse.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, also confirmed the incident.

Hundeyin said, “Investigation is ongoing and effort is on to contact her family.”

THE Lagos State Police Command confirmed the report that a woman purportedly leaped into the river from a moving boat after boarding a boat from Igando, Lagos State, to Ogun.

The woman was already being sought after by rescue crews, according to command spokesman SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the event to reporters on Sunday night.

He says that on Sunday at around 8:00 am, a man named Rasaq reported the matter to the Igando Police Division.

According to Rasaq, at approximately 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, a man named Folashade Nimotalahi, whose address is unknown, departed from their Isuti Jet, located on Isuti Road in Igando, Lagos, and boarded a boat headed for Totowu, Ogun.

"On board were twelve passengers. Abruptly, the woman threw off her life jacket and dove into the river.

The spokesperson cited Rasaq as adding in his report, "She left behind one nylon bag containing a bottle of sniper, Alimosho General Hospital cards, and some drugs."

According to the PPRO, detectives from the division went to the location of the incident right away.

He said that while the investigation was ongoing and efforts were being made to get in touch with the family, a search team had been called in to retrieve the body.

Her Plan B was the easiest for her.
A lot of people are on the suicide lifeline because of the country's conditions and we need to help out.
We need to help those in difficult conditions as much as we can. Let's prioritize humanity first before placing blame on ethnic and political factors.
I hope she finds rest, but overall, suicide should never be considered an option.

Damnnn niggar
Let them continue to jump I don't care and I will not give help to any Nigerians

A friend of mine in South Africa before the election says if tinubu gets up to 10k votes knowing fully well that he was the one that brought upon us Buhari's administration and he was part of Buhari's administration then it means we masses are wicked, tribalistic, hypocrites and fake

And you know the funny thing now despite the suffering no meaningful protest and shut down like that of Jonathan occurred again
Because Nigerians are tribalistic so it is always difficult for Nigerians to rise up against any president from the three major tribe. But if it was a minority president they will rise up just like they did to Jonathan

Tinubu came to unleash hunger and starvation on Nigerians, needlessly. The jaujau president came up with the worst policy ever, not minding the consequences.

Angola, the former largest exporter of crude in Africa also removed subsidy, but in piece meal so their people wouldn't feel the impact. Before they did, they had already provided enough palliatives in place...that's the country that cares for their people. Tinubu's supporters' claims that their mentor isn't aware of the subsidy removal from this year's budget is a lie from the pit of hell. The subsidy they claimed had gone is back with full force. They now pay in trillions. They'd never employ intelligent people to work for them becasue of thehr super corrupt minds. This starvation would have long been avoided. 9 months are over, with nothing to show for the renewed hope.

RIP to the woman. There many more, who are dying daily as a result of Tinubu's poor policies but are not making deadlines. That's what happens when you rode into power via propaganda. Karma is real.

As if that wasn't enough, you went and floated the naira same time. I just pity the masses right now.

We are already 220 million people, so anyone who dies now won't be missed.

Everyone should be strong to get through this hard time. If your hustle isn't paying off, run to family members and friends for help.

If God decides to bless you tomorrow and you commit suicide today, you lost. In Nigeria, we say, when there's life, there's hope.
