"VAT in Nigeria is very low. It is five per cent for everything which does not allow for proper generation of revenue.”

Have correct information before you bitch it public. VAT rate in Nigeria is 7.5%

Also any Nigerian that can get away with NOT paying taxes, should do. Everything would be embezzled in addition to the oil revenue.

You should not be responsible for financing Ned Nwoko's next 18-year old bride.

It's only the air we breathe isn't taxed.

Nigeria VAT should be 15% and should be paid at the point of consumption not production so each state cab collect their VAT themselves
Minimum wage is still 30k

The EU is misleading Nigeria.

The same VAT some northern states are collecting money generated from vat while they continue to punish sellers of alocholic drinks like beer in their states.
Re: VAT In Nigeria Is Very Low - EU/ECOWAS by kenex4ever(m): 9:39am On Mar 12
7.5% is very low in Nigeria

When dey want to increase the suffering of tje people, they go and get one foreigner or two to comment in support of their motion, lol.

VAT in Nigeria is low, what about minimum wage in Nigeria?

Tinubu major revenue generation increase in Lagos was based on increase in taxation. That can work because Lagos is a business hub.

But to apply that in Nigeria is sick. You have to increase minimum wage to #500 first b4bu increase vat.

So also is implementation and use of it by the government for the people.

Paying more tax is not and never was an issue, provided the tax payers see the benefit and value.

This rubbish comparison which is only one sided is annoying!

What does that have to do with VAT?

If you can't pay #15 from #100 then you won't still get able to pay 1500 from 10000

EU can get whatever they want on the international market bit the prices won't be good. Which is why they need colonies and vassals with puppet governments to give away the goods unprocessed or at cheap prices.

This is why dangote can't refine Nigerian crude oil in London. Instead Nigerian crude oil is sent to London for refining. Lol.

It is very clear that EU has an agenda to keep Nigeria impoverished or disintegrated. It's so unfortunate that Nigeria now lives strictly by the dictates of the western world, who have nothing good for the country.

VAT in Nigeria is very low. It is five per cent for everything which does not allow for proper generation of revenue,” he added.

This slowpoke is talking with so much confidence. VAT is 7.5%. It has been so since 2020. We keep allowing silly foreigners talk in our affairs.

You want to advice a nation but you don't have the most basic facts.

Why syh? Dangote imports crude from America at expensive prices.

Nigeria exports crude oil to EU.

Dangote dares not refine Nigerian crude because EU thinks it belongs to it. And most Nigerians are too brainwashed to opoose it.

Very few humans are free from slavery. We don’t recognize it because the form has been changing.

Whatever a slave owns belongs to its master, even the slave’s children.

Your car, your house don’t belong to you, you only have the permission of the real owner, the government, to use it.

If you don’t believe me, refuse to pay for your vehicle license or land use charge and see what happens.

People are assets, products with serial numbers disguised as National identity and social security numbers.

You are the property of the government, and the government itself is property to a higher group of people.

That’s what gives them the confidence to tell the government what to do.

The EU and ECOWAS are right, cry them a river that doesn't change the truth

The countries you all run to for greener pastures got it right by making the citizens and consumers paying the right tax.

The problem with the Nigerian case is 'corruption'. No one wants to be committed to paying a tax that will be stolen and no one will be prosecuted for it

Until we start killing and hanging those politicians who steal our common patrimony, NIgeria will not make progress
