It's rare to see government in the South spending huge sums on churches. It's not a tradition in the South. It only happened in Akwa Ibom State recently because the governor was a church deacon.

Nigeria has a spending problem, not a revenue problem.

How can a state like sokoto spend that much to feed people when they can easily use that to fix water problem, build classroom, hospitals and provide other basic amenities.

If all these nonsense continues, nigeria will never develop.

thank you for your enlightened opinion.

but mr nairalanda1 feels that Nigeria does not have enough money and that Nigerians need to be taxed some more

The hypocrites and woke beings condemning this gesture are simply stewpid. It is not an aberration for any Government to feed its poor population especially during a sacred Month like Ramadan.

What you should complain of is implementation and budget inflation. Stop being unnecessarily woke please.

what has the issue got to do with being woke or not woke?

did you just learn the word?

Re: Sokoto To Spend N6.7bn On Ramadan Feeding by Ferdinandu(m): 4:43pm On Mar 12
The problem with this is that it is just an avenue to retire the state's funds because it will be difficult to account how much was really used to feed the masses. At the end of the sleaze you will realise that less than 20% of that money actually went to feeding the people

religion is not attached to the amenities you mentioned, so wount fly. Moreover the structures you are talking about are physical and can be verified, which is something they don't want. Claim you sent billions to feed people who are capable of feeding themselves in the name of religion, they will all shout amin and life goes on.

misplaced priority ,money that should have been channelled towards empowering people instead they keep impoverishing, cos they believe the only way to hold on to power is to continue making people poor .

Cultural bondage. Beggers everywhere.

6.7bn to feed people is too much? But southern governors spend several more on Christmas light but we don't see you all crying as you're doing now.
