Lol.. 285 people kidnapped under Jonathan, a southerner, to discredit the government. Buhari, a northerner, was there, no high end kidnapping of so many people. Now Tinubu, a southerner, is there, 287 people kidnapped. These Hausa Fulanis know what they are doing.
Nothing will happen, he will finish his 8 years.

The best option for the president is to employ the services of international high tech private military firms. Those ones are after money. No political affiliation or interests. Let them know they can't have access to natural resources. As long as they're paid well, they will get the job done. But on second thoughts, can they even be trusted too?

I don't even know why Tinubu can't take the bold step to start using black ops to assassinate the enemies of progress who are sponsoring terrorism in Nigeria. Or better still, divide the whole shit and burn the bridge.

But what we can tell you is that the government is still reviewing these offers and the position of government will be made known
Empty heads with cobwebs are saying they are reviewing, instead of shamelessly grabbing the offer sharply

First of all... Shame on our Armed Forces for not been able to curtail the activities of bandits and terrorists on our soil.

Shame on the army for allowing politicians to interfere in their operations, thereby sacrificing our gallant soldiers because of politics and vested interest.

If we need any external help on the fight against bandits.

Lets do the JONATHAN way, get Russian or S/African mercenaries to do the work. America is not to be trusted, they will just turn Nigeria into a more damaged country.
Right on point, brother.Involving the US will only compound the problems and no country that has ever involved them in their internal issues, ever remains stable.
Look at the Central American nations of Honduras and El Salvador which have never been stable, having had so much of US interference subsequent to their dependence on her.
Honduras is still struggling to govern herself and El Salvador too.

Re: U.S., Others Offer To Assist In Combating Kidnapping by Chukwuka319(m): 5:30pm On Mar 14
The FG should never try accepting US offer because their help will only compound the problems.America's aid has never benefited any country depending on her, and no country depending on her help has ever remained the same in terms of stability.
Look at the Latin American nations of Honduras,El Salvador and Guatemala.
They depended so much on the foreign aid of the US, and subsequently she interfered so much in their affairs.
Thanks to US constant meddling, Honduras is still struggling to govern herself likewise El Salvador and Guatemala.
Nigerian government should learn more about the history of other nations who have dealt with the US and suffered their leprous touch.

Why can't this government enact a law that will criminalise payment of ransome to kidnappers while the government will carry out every thing within there powers to free the victims.

They won't agree because it will spoil their business. Kidnappers are businessmen, according to Gumi and his brothers.

Should have ended long ago, no reasonable government release terrorists who have displaced his citizens, kidnap and killed on basis of forgiveness.

Not just military hardware, but also boots on the ground, if requested.

GEJ showed us that mercenaries could be used successfully to end the rubbish. We must ask Buhari why he asked them to leave.

The Nigerian government should formally inaugurate a mutually beneficial surveillance drone agreement with the USA similar to the one in place for the nation of Niger, where a couple of landing strips have been made available for US drone fleets to launch search-and-destroy sorties against Islamic terror gangs roaming the hinterland.

With US drones plying Nigeria's unfriendly skies day and night, kidnapping gangs will be detected and neutralized so quickly that the current wave of abductions ravaging Nigeria will rapidly attenuate down from a tempestuous flood to a trickle, thanks to the eye in the sky directing the bear in the air that can then roll in to bombard kidnap crews with surgical precision, leaving their victims unscratched.

Lol. Oga mi, you are looking at the issue wrongly. Very wrongly.

The elites do not worry about kidnapping. Why should they when they got escorts and the military to protect them? You haven't heard of IBD Dende, who's pals with Tinubu and who's also a top smuggler who regularly ships arms, food, drugs and bikes to bandits and terr0rists in the north and elsewhere? And how many more IBD Dende do we not know of?
Hope you also know that top cust0ms officials are smugglers themselves. What about the cover that the Nigerian security forces regularly gives bandits and murderous Fulani herdsmen? These herdsmen can come to your farm and cut you up, r@pe or k1ll you when you protest and will it take a US drone landing strip to solve that issue? Worst is that these herdsmen are in most cases not even Nigerian.

Fact is, if the government wants the kidnapping and banditry issue to stop, it won't take up to a month for that to happen. But why should they when they are busy benefiting from it both financially and otherwise. No be the most insecurity ravaged areas where no one voted and INEC no dare step foot that APC said they won? Imagine how much is made by the military by padding budgets meant for arms purchase to fight boko haram, how much they make from illegal taxes in boko haram-ravaged areas and stuff like that.

If I remember correctly, a few years back, the military bought third-hand T-72s from a contractor for a couple million USD apiece, with the contractor having paid around $85K apiece for them tanks. And what about the case of a top general who asked a squad to transport around 700 million naira and they stole it, threw away their sim cards and ran away. Buratai's Dubai apartments nko?

As we speak, the national assembly is voting 181 million per streetlight, abi borehole. Imagine if this country is serious what it can do. The kind of money being wasted and stolen here is just incomprehensible and even more incomprehensible is that like 99% of the people doing the stealing are already incomprehensibly rich via virtue of their looting the public treasury. They are still stealing not because they need the money, but because it's their default setting.

They are still stealing not because they need the money, but because it's their default setting.

Nigeria's treasury looting elite, despite their hired security details engaged to keep them safe, remains, as a group, at particular risk of winding up in the dens of kidnap gangs because the families of the wealthy have access to orders of magnitude more money on short notice to fork over as ransom payments, therefore it is not likely that more than a minuscule, statistically insignificant fraction of Nigeria's treasury-looting class could be covertly benefitting from the kidnap epidemic currently sweeping Nigeria.

The Fulani terror scourge does to an extent overlap with the kidnap crime wave in progress. Yet, the herdsmen wing of the Fulani invasion force fanning out across Nigeria and other neighboring countries pursues a wider agenda than that of merely cashing in on the kidnap ransom revenue generated by some of their tribal cohorts. The terrorist/herdsmen whose diseased cattle devour ripening farm crops in the fields, and who perpetrate massacres in rural communities across the entire West African seaboard are all acting in concert to forcibly annex and permanently occupy vast swathes of Africa's most fertile agricultural land by force of arms, therefore the land grab phenomenon cannot accurately be characterized as a Nigerian problem that has been created within Nigeria by shadowy cartels of bad actors.

Returning to the subject of a bilateral security pact being signed between Nigeria and the USA, my layman's speculation is that very soon, and perhaps even in a matter of a few scant months, American drones tasked with both surveillance and precision ground attack WILL be granted permission to operate from bases located within Nigeria, in furtherance of the overarching imperative to terminate kidnap gangs with extreme prejudice using drones, to safeguard foreign investment in Nigeria, and to a lesser extent, to protect the common Nigerian from being abducted by the terrorist gangs now acting with virtual impunity.
