Festus Keyamo Defends Tinubu From Drug Trafficking, Says Tinubu Mistakenly Shared Flats With Drug Lords

The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Mr Festus Keyamo, has distanced the All Progressive Congress presidential candidata, Bola Tinubu, from being a drug baron who was involved in the traffic of narcotics in the United States.

Keyamo, who also doubles as APC Presidential Campaign spokesperson, noted that the former governor of Lagos State only shared a block of flat with drug barons about 30 years ago in the US.

His reaction is coming following documents of a Chicago District Court indicting and convicting Tinubu of drug dealings and money laundering in 1993.

The document which emerged online two days ago, described APC standard-bearer as a drug baron, adding that Tinubu entered a plea bargain, leading to the forfeiture of his assets to US authorities in 1993

It was also pointed out that Tinubu forfeited the sum of $460, 000 dollars in his bank account at First Heritage Bank to the US government.

Speaking on Wednesday on Channels TV, Mr Keyamo dismissed such claims, insisting that Tinubu was linked to drug peddlers who were his neighbours.

He said: “What happened was that Tinubu went to open an account. The address which he used in opening the account was the address used by these people. I think some blocks of flats. Maybe, he was happy to be in that block of flats too.

“So, they now link it that the other people they were investigating for narcotics are in the same address used by Asiwaju to open that account.’’

The criminality behind this subsidy issue is still unveiling. Someone just wake up one day to the lie of subsidy gone with no modality to cushion the ripple effects of such major economic decision and people are not asking questions.

Of course it does not take much for one to know that an itchy criminal who criminally found his way in government will only continue to govern by lies and propaganda. This govt is the most criminally inclined ever seen. Being impulsive is not political sagacity.
"Subsidy is gone" on inauguration day is the most foolish, most ill-mannered and most ill-prepared statement EVER uttered by a living or dead military or civilian head of government in recorded history.
To now also float the ₦ with it,same period,is taking stupid ity in presidential action to psychotic levels.
As dull and clueless as Buhari was,a man that could be easily manipulated like a puppet,by people around him,or was at other times unaware of how his office was being used to commit grand heist and other criminal actions,he still had the presence of mind and sanity to thread carefully on both policy fronts.

It has been confirmed that the statement " Subsidy is gone" wasn't written in the speech of PBAT.

One of the most arrogant and expensive speeches by a Nigerian president which has thrown Nigeria into a 10 months ailment the country is yet to recover from.

The subsidy removal programme of PBAT is undoubtedly one of the worst executed reforms in Nigerian history.

The presidency was consistently warned by Petroleum Economist and Energy experts on the total removal of subsidy and it's attendant consequence.

Bala Zakka opined that the removal of subsidy on Kerosene and diesel by the Buhari Government only brought further hardship and economic disruptions without corresponding energy sustainability.

PBAT in Ten (10) months cannot point to ANY tangible achievement since the beginning of his administration except an exponential rise in FX rate, the worst economic migration data since independence, poverty indexes are triple, multinational relocating outside Nigeria with mind boggling financial losses, Hyper-inflation, purchasing power erosion etc.

If PBATs Government still pays this amount of fuel subsidy behind the curtains, then PBAT should suspend the Petrol subsidy removal.

It's a shame and totally unacceptable to deceive your populace to endure whilst not being accountable.

The thing is the subsidy is harming our economy and causing problems for nnpc and is a nidus for corruption

It has to go. Gej was onto something when he attempted a total removal. Nigerians said no, today the charade continues at our expense

Fayemi & co played politics with Jonathan/PDP's attempt to remove subsidy and deregulate the petrol market in 2012 like the capitalist Obasanjo administration did with telecom sector some 12 years earlier. Funny how they got intellectWATS like Pastor Bakare, Femi Falana, Femi Kuti etc to dance naked in Ojota over their propaganda lies.

hisexcellency34:
A former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, on Tuesday, said the protest that trailed the fuel subsidy removal during the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2012 was due to political interests.

Fayemi said this in his keynote address delivered at a national dialogue organised to celebrate the 60th birthday celebration of the founding National Secretary of Alliance for Democracy and Fellow, Abuja School of Social and Political Thought, Professor Udenta Udenta in Abuja.

The programme was attended by Jonathan, former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; former Minister of Aviation, Osita Chidoka, among others.

According to him, the last time Nigeria experienced economic development was during Jonathan’s administration

Fayemi said, “Today, I read former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s interview in The Cable saying our liberal democracy is not working and we need to revisit it, and I agree with him. We must move from the political alternatives. I think we are almost on a dead end of that.

“What we need is alternative politics and my own notion of alternative politics is that you can’t have 35 per cent of the vote and take 100 per cent. It won’t work! We must look at proportional representation so that the party that is said to have won 21 per cent of the votes will have 21 per cent of the government. Adversary politics bring division and enmity.

“All political parties in the country agreed and they even put in their manifesto that subsidy must be removed. We all said subsidy must be removed. But we in ACN at the time, in 2012, we know the truth Sir, but it is all politics.

I read past week 8m barrels they refined, they put up offers for its sale in international markets, despite all the billions Nigeria invested in that place.
Dagote refinary is a photograph, we take pictures there, FOTO NO BE JUJU BE DAT?

even the present hash economic situation is no more profitable nor suitable for dangote refinery, therefore even when dangote refinery begin production, am not sure it will reduce the cost of pms in Nigeria, the best it can achieve is product availability.

I had some hope that President Tinubu and his government could face Nigeria in the right direction toward a productive and prosperous future. My cautious optimism was based on the firm tone with which he announced the end of petrol or fuel subsidies. Then came the APPARENT attempts to liberalize the forex market, the electricity reform bill and a few other things.

The fuel subsidy announcement has turned out to be a sham.

The forex liberalization is fake.

If this is the best the government can do, then I proclaim with assurance that Nigeria is headed to a severe economic depression worse than anything in its history. My off-hand prediction that gives some idea of what's coming - without drastic implemenation of free market reforms such as floating the naira, the exchange rate is heading to 3000/$ within the next 12 months.

There's also a high likelihood of civil unrest, insurgency or outright war.

Everyone should take steps to prepare.

Good Luck to Nigeria.
