Activist and former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has apologised to the Nigerian Army (NA) for posting a video purportedly showing Okuama community in Ughelli South local government area of Delta State under military attack following the killing of 16 Army personnel of the 181 Amphibious Battalion in the State last Thursday.

The viral videos show some houses on fire and was allegedly blamed on the Army as a reprisal attack on the community where the Commanding Officer of the Army Battalion, three other senior officers and 12 soldiers were ambushed and killed by suspected youths of the community.

But, Sowore, who just returned to his family in the United States of America last week after about five years of being on trial in Nigeria for alleged terrorism, said he had discovered that the video was false as it depicts a different event that happened in the neighbouring Bayelsa State and not Delta State.

Taking to his X handle (formerly Twitter) on Monday night, Sowore, who said he had since deleted the misleading videos, however, insisted that the Nigerian Army desist from further reprisal attacks against innocent civilians in Okuama and any other settlement in the Niger Delta region even as he called for impartial investigation into the killing of the Army personnel said to be on a mediatory and peace mission in the Okuama community.

The Same people that support the genocide of Israel in Palestine, for the crime committed by few Hamas fighters.

If you wanted 5 million Palestinians wiped out by the lunatic Zionists led by Madtanyahu, you have no Justification for opposing Nigerian army from wiping out that community for the crimes committed by few of them.

As for me, no innocent should pay for the crime of others, not in Palestine, not in Okuama, not anywhere.

Isreal have killed more than 30 000 Palestine, 3000 of that where infants and toddlers.

If I get you correctly, you are aligning a war waged between two countries with sovereign borders to a war waged by the soldiers in a country against citizens in the same country whose taxes keep them in employment?

Jamiu, Islam will not be the end of common sense in Nigeria.

If you don't know how to read and understand, get someone to interpret for you.

The topic of my post was the reactions to the crimes committed, the perpetrators face the consequences or everyone pays?

Besides, what brings religion into this? Millions of non - Muslims across the World are protesting the genocide in Gaza, only you Nigerian Christians are always happy with such atrocities.

Jesus is God that killed himself in order to forgive the sins of the people he created.

If I were to have any authority in Nigeria, I will ban twitter.
Because that's the headquarters of fake news.

You’re right.

Chief of Army Staff died in a plane crash, only them were jubilating.

Naira depreciated against the USD, only them were jubilating.

Qatar declines proposed Business Investment Meeting with Nigeria, only them were jubilating.

Nigerian Soldiers were gruesomely murdered & cannibalized in their region, only them were jubilating.

Nigerian Army retaliated in good measure, now they’re crying foul.

There’s nothing they did not do to disparage & drag Asari Dokubo on the internet for exposing their Albino-Terrorist-Messiah as a fraudulent porn-star, now they’re creating threads all over the forum in their futile attempt to rile Asari Dokubo against the Nigerian Army.

Every enemy of Nigeria go lose last last.

Human being with conscience is speaking while his most of his corn-fused kinsmen will be cheering the army to revenge by leveling down the whole community to show they have power and to teach the Bandits that have left the community immediately after the incident a lesson.

In situations like this, organized military in organized countries will not even go on rampage immediately, they will take days or weeks or months to investigate and then strike by picking out the culprits one after the other but in Nigeria, once a soldier is killed in a community, the rest of the community will be destroyed and all humans on sight shot without mercy as if the bandits that killed the soldier will be waiting and smiling in the community after committing the act.

Most times the community are also victims to the Bandits whom they cant even confront yet cowardly Nigerian army will invade any community where their colleagues are killed to inflict more pains on civilians without proper investigation which is how they have been creating more and more enemies for Nigerian army all over Nigeria.

Nigerian army make una change tactics, stop invading, killing and burning down any community where your colleagues are killed, it doesn't bring positive result at the end, yes its painful but calm down, take your time, secretly work with the locals to unravel the killers and pick them out one by one over time, this will win you guys more lovers among Nigerians than this your usual gragra in Southern communities, it will backfire if you guys don't refrain from it.

2024 is not 1999 when you guys invaded and massacred poor villagers in Odi Bayelsa oh, time have changed oh, Nigerians have become more bitter and angry oh, you carry gun today as army no mean say you are forever safe, make peace with Nigerian civilians, stop brutalizing civilians and attracting more haters and enemies to the whole Nigerian army. This is 2024

Just say, I am not a Muslim and I'll apologize immediately. If not, there is only one reason you thought this is the right time and conditions to put those two side by side.

Apologies to anyone who felt slighted by what I said. It is what it is.
