Alaoji, Egbema, Ihovbor, Gbaran were all NIPP projects instituted by Baba Shege. Sapele has only two turbines out of six operational.

Chrome Group abi EEDC only supervised maintenance they are not Gencos! Everything is not about propaganda, there are people with first hand knowledge in this forum. My only prayer is that Alaoji starts operating at full capacity because it has been operational all these years.

propaganda or no propaganda let the man do what's necessary for his state and his people to progress. After the people are not fighting amongst themselves on which government did what and didn't do what. Your response sounds like as someone with bad will, focus on yours.

Mk Una dae talk with sense small. You should be thanking Tinubu for removing power from executive list, making states have the ability to generate and transmit their own power

And why should he be thank? just because useless bastards have been in power doesn't mean the right thing shouldn't be done. Why should he be thanked for what is meant to be his work? isn't that the reason he was elected into office?

This development in abia is indicting to him and his fellow politicians claiming there's no money.

There's no money yet they are wasting money on useless palliatives.

It is a private company doing this not Abia State. Many of Abians wont be able to afford the electricity bills. It is not moimoi o!

The era of sharing kerosene as palliatives and dividends of Democracy is gone forever in Abia. I pray other states emulate this man. All we need from our leaders is an enabling environment to make business grow. Labour party, always leading by example. There are several moribund infrastructure in many states but their governors simply concentrate on whatever they can steal while in office.

Kogi shall be free someday..that's another african tourist destination
Credit goes to the federal government for upgrading the power plant. It is a federal plant.

All the above mentioned power plants are Goodluck's power plants. Baba shege has nothing to his name.

Nigeria govt borrowed money to build infrastructures, then sell it to individual that charges the masses enormously to use it. The masses at the same time pay the enormous charges and still pay back the loans, While the proceed of the sale is then mismanaged by governments officials .
FG is no selling the power plant, they are only giving the contract to a private company to upgrade it.

That's it. Igbos will be the super house now in Naija. Hmmm! Industries will move there. I will move there as well oooo.

But let's see if Lagos will start something. Honestly, I like this. Perhaps when industries are moving to Abia, Lagos will wake up. Thumb up to Abia State. Respect!

The plant was built under the FG-conceived National Integrated Power Project (NIPP) and commissioned in 2015. The plant is owned by the Niger Delta Power Holding Company which also manages:

Olorunsogo Power Plant, Ogun
Gbarain Power Plant, Bayelsa
Ihovbor Power Plant, Edo
Omoku Power Plant, Rivers
Egbema Power Plant, Imo
Sapele Power Plant, Delta
Omotosho Power Plant, Ondo
Calabar Power Plant, Cross River
Geregu Power Plant, Kogi (built under NIPP and sold in 2013)

Your point is invalid as the planned upgrade is a Federal Government intervention.

Ignorance is bliss. It's easy to know why politicians find it easy to deceive many Nigerians. Many are educated illiterates and the rest are either moved by their biases i.e. Religion, ethnic, economic etc or they're simply stark illiterate.

Projects take time from conception to actualization. If any of the newly elected leaders in Nigeria should commission a project today, it's unlikely that project was conceived and executed by him/her. And for power projects in Abia, Obidients should enjoy their ignorance but try not to catch too much cruise lest industry pple are forced to open mouth and burst their bubble of ignorance.

This power plant has always been in Aba. GEJ commissioned it during his tenure. It's owned by EEDC. I think It's currently moribund, hence they're about to revive it. It's still going to power other parts of Abia state under EEDC's jurisdiction

Point of correction. It's not owned by EEDC, it's owned by NIPP. The power plant is meant to supply power to the National grid. It's not solely dedicated for Abia state alone

He is poorly educated. And that governor sharing the power he has no say over also need help. The power from that plant will go straight to thew National Grid first from where it will be distributed. Abia may even get next to nothing

It is long over due. As one of the engineers that worked on this site and other sites at Omuku, Rivers State and Ebgema, Imo state, all these projects started by Goodluck Jonathan could have been completed if not failure of Buhari to continue the work probably because he was not the one that started it. When I left the project site, some of the equipments were stolen, others left to rust.

Even some critical parts were abandoned in Lagos and Onne ports to degrade.

All the designs incorporated gas turbines with a regenerative turbines like steam.

The same Emeka Ofor that was vilified by Obedients weeks ago on the stupid claim that he hampered the progress of the one Barth Nnaji built.

Meanwhile, where are the useless news merchants that said FG and rest of Nigeria always stops the SE from having infrastructure built in the East??.
