...Celebrates 2024 birthday in a grand style

Determined to stimulate economic activities in Nsit Ubium LGA of Akwa Ibom State, the wife of the Transition Chairman of the LGA, Mrs. Emem Iniobong Orok, on Thursday doled out cash support to market women of the area.

Making the presentation at the Council Secretariat, Mrs. Orok said the empowerment scheme was in support of Governor Umo Eno's ARISE Agenda and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno's pet project - Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).

Mrs. Orok charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the cash to upscale their businesses.

The Council's first lady, who also used the event to celebrate her 2024 birth anniversary, extolled the giant achievements of the Governor and wife at the State level, assuring the women that she will play her part to extend the love of the Governor to the women at the grassroot.

She also appreciated her husband, Arc. Iniobong Orok-led Transition Committee for supporting and prioritizing women.

"You will be asked to come back here in June, 2024, with the capital that you will receive today. When you come back, we will get the cash from you and give it to another set of women to also do businesses. As you handover the money we are giving you today in June, we will give you another bigger package and cash for your business as a reward for being a faithful investor," Mrs. Orok said.

In her goodwill message, the wife of the Transition Committee Chairman of Uyo Local Government Council, Mrs. Akaninyene Uwemedimo Udo, lauded Mrs. Orok for the empowerment scheme for market women of the area, describing her as a visionary leader.

The event featured presentation of cash to women of the local government area for their businesses, cutting of cake in celebration of the first lady's birth anniversary and goodwill messages.
