Meanwhile, the predominant native language is Krio, a Creole dialect derived from English, spoken by approximately 90% of the nearly 9 million inhabitants. Uganda is an East African country with English as the official language. The most spoken local languages in the country are Luganda and Swahili. The country’s GDP is expected to grow 6.7% in 2024.
