Northern Nigeria is very stratified

The rich who believe that wealth is their divine right , hereditary wealth, and wealth without enterprise

the middle class who do not strive but envy the wealthy

and the poor who accept their fate as divine thus accept all sort of mistreatment from the upper classes
thus

it is very hard for the lower class to break thru the ranks and become wealthy

if he does, he is still snubbed,, they ask " who is his father?"

education is one of the ways the poor can become rich and it systematically being deprived form the lower class of the North

with education, a man is unfit to become a slave

For the poor northerners, they will need a holistic way of changing their mind.
it will take four generations of the mentally liberated to free them of their shackles

The bandits are only paid salary. The organizers are the one asking government to pay the ransom. It's a way of embezzling government fund through banditry and kidnapping.
