The Lagos State Police Command has arrested one Emmanuel Okpara for allegedly beating his wife, Patience, to death in the Agege area of Lagos State.

Okpara was said to have physically assaulted his wife on Monday after a heated argument reportedly ensued between the couple.

A Police Source who spoke to PUNCH Metro said Patience sustained internal injuries and started vomiting blood in the process.

According to the source, the deceased’s son, who arrived at the scene of the incident the following morning, found her in a state of unconsciousness and immediately rushed her to the hospital for medical attention.

The source said, “The son of the deceased reported at Elere Division on Tuesday that on Monday around 1am, he received a phone call that his mother’s husband, Emmanuel Okpara, beat her, leading to injury and vomiting of blood.

“When he rushed to their residence on Tuesday morning, he did not meet Emmanuel but saw only her mother. He subsequently rushed her to Orile Agege General Hospital where she was admitted for medical treatment.

The Police Source said the suspect was later arrested and detained.

Meanwhile, Patience, who was undergoing medical treatment since her admission to the hospital, was declared dead on Thursday morning.

The doctor on duty was said to have confirmed this to the Divisional Police Officer who visited the hospital to examine the condition of the late Patience.

Unfortunately, when the DPO visited the hospital to check the victim, the doctor on duty informed him that Patience gave up the ghost at about 6am on Thursday,” the source disclosed.

When contacted, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident, adding that the corpse would be evacuated to the Mainland General Hospital mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy.

“The suspect has been arrested and is currently in custody. The deceased’s corpse will be evacuated to the mainland general hospital mortuary in Yaba for autopsy, and investigation is ongoing,” Hundeyin said.

PUNCH Metro reported in January that a three-month pregnant mother of six, Deborah Fawolere, was allegedly beaten to death by her husband, Idowu.

The deceased was reportedly confirmed dead after being taken to the Gbagada General Hospital in Lagos State.

The man is a male version of Jennyclay. May justice not be tampered with mercy.

I hope Jennyclay is here already to annihilate the man.

No excuse for the man, him don secure long term bedspace for prison.

However, dear women, 'you will kill me today', 'if you are a man beat me' etc does not favor anyone o. Avoid any situation that might tempt you into this. If the man is the trouble maker and violent person, form humble at the instance of flaring emotions. Excuse yourself from the house after that if you think you are at danger. No go dey drag unnecessary dragging. Too many unfavorable endings dey occur.

Dear men, silence treatment, walking away is not a sign of weakness. If a woman no give you respect wey you feel say you deserve, waka commot from her. If indeed you deserve the respect she go come beg you back if she no come back, just bone and keep developing yourself for a woman that will respect you. Violence on your woman no be big man o. In the long run e no pay you at all.

Something is wrong with Lagos.

The number of agberos alone is not normal.

Then the best dressed woman is a man 🙄

Now this😢
It's really sad honestly.

Sanwo-Olu should do something about all these agberos desecrating our land. They keep increasing in numbers daily.

The perpetrator of the crime Agbero Emmanuel Okpara is done for because LASG will pursue the case to a logical conclusion.

Women can frustrate ones life but please always keep you calm. Now you will end up in jail. The children will be trained by friends and family.
