Does this mean that Dangote has no intention of producing petrol for Nigerian market? The naphtha that is supposed to be hydro treated, isomerized, reformed for petrol production is now being shipped to Asia and other parts of the world for petrochemical consumption.

Is it that these units (Hydrotreater, Isomerization, Catalytic Reformer and the gasoline blending system) are not available, hence the reason why they are exporting Naphtha? What’s the holdup? When are these units going to be commissioned? How long are we going to continue to import petrol?

Clarifications from the Dangote group will go a long way to shed more light around these grey areas.

What’s the difference between this strategy of exporting Naphtha and exporting crude oil/ condensates? I hope government, NNPC are paying attention to their oversight function.

Dangote has started selling diesel @ ₦1225/L since last week now.Meanwhile don't forget that crude price and the forex will be the price determinant.The only succour is to have many refineries in Nigeria and this will bring competition among them and force the price down.Without this Dangote will continue to milk Nigeria just like his cement business

I swear, Nigeria have some smart people but also some of the dumbest people that God has created on Earth. Just imagine these fools complaining about a private enterprise exporting a product.
These shallow zero IQ cretins thinks that these is a mom and pop shop. This is a very complex enterprise hence it will take time to come to full production of all it products.
Really sad and pathetic how dumb some of these people are.

Which business man with an opportunity to earn foreign exchange will choose to earn in naira over dollar?
It makes no business sense. You keep losing value for your money if you keep trading in naira. Nigeria is currently not good for business. Dangote will definitely prefer to export his products than produce for the local market.

Also don't forget that he imported the crude oil... which means he bought it in dollars. That would make his refined petrol very expensive for the Nigerian market and he may end up not having enough buyers and even having a negative PR in Nigeria since everyone expects him to crash fuel prices

People tend to forget that Dangote Refinery is a business. People borrowed a lot of money to set it up. At the end of the day, the main purpose of a business is to make money. Dangote is going to sell refined products internationally if that's what helps him to recoup his investment faster

Dangote Refinery is not a charity, it is not a humanitarian organisation. They don't owe Nigerians refined petrol. Their job is to make money
