The debate surrounding crossdressing and sexuality has been stirring conversations across social media platforms in Nigeria.

However, the Spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has firmly stated that there is no legal provision in Nigeria suggesting that individuals who engage in crossdressing should be subject to arrest.

In a recent appearance as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today, ACP Adejobi emphasized that the offenses for which individuals are typically apprehended are more aligned with natural offenses or crimes against nature.

He asserted that without substantial evidence, it's unreasonable to detain someone merely for crossdressing, as it is not considered a crime under Nigerian law.

"I have not read anywhere that crossdressing is an offence in Nigeria…. Let us be reasonable, you cannot arrest somebody you want to prosecute without having credible evidence and as such, crossdressing is not yet a crime in Nigeria," Adejobi stated.

It's not "explicitly illegal" doesn't mean it not illegal. He doesn't understand the laws just yet.

This is a fact. People should be careful what they ask for.
.
This was how Hisbah or whatever that nonsense is started. Are you going to be okay with police arresting and assaulting you because they think your dress does not conform with your gender?
.
.
Are you gonna be okay with another sars?
.
.
Imagine police stripping your wife, sister or mom in public for dressing issues or even trying to put their hands in their privates? Sars did this a lot and there are testimonies online.
.
.
Imagine police or army asking your wife to remove her trousers in public because they consider it as crossdressing and all you could do is watch how they and othe passers bye watch your wife's nude for free... Since police no get joy...they could shoot you and that will be all.

so put Bobrisky aside. When the problem really starts Bob can fly to anywhere around the world with his gay sugar daddies....na you and your mama go remain for naija.
.
.
So make una dey put sense into everything you do in this country.
.
Poverty's grasp, a malady to defeat.

There's no law against cross dressing, even in the Bible and Qur'an.

Unfortunately that's what it is. In 1960s of Nigeria what ladies wear today is termed men's wear, they all crossdressed and it is now acceptable for them in today's Nigeria. The guy's wants to follow suits, ladies already set the precedent and since no laws were used to stop them it's going to be difficult to find any laws to do that now.

In summary it's only based on our moral right to say what is good and bad but our legal right might be infringed upon if such is practiced to the latter. In as much as I loathe this there is little anyone can do unless a law will be promulgated to address this which will also address that of the women because no law should be discriminatory.
