They don't know lol...
Aside petrol we import every other thing even pencil, needle and razor blades, toothpick, matches self lol

Increase the volume
Economy don't entertain emotions, patriotism, propaganda etc
Stronger naira can only happen when we export crude resources, export export semi finished goods and more export export finish goods, then add up foreign direct investment and incentives and encourage diaspora remittance. Reduce the corruption inherent in forex from the government MDA's and bank big boys/girls.
Any other magic to shore up the naira is only but for short term, it's not sustainable

This two face man is so confused because i remember we were told last time that Dangote also source his major crude oil abroad.
What it means is that even Dangote will always need more dollars for crude oil importation cool cool

Is Reno an Economist?

How many of his past 'prophesies' since 2015 ever came to pass?

The Naira will only gain further whenever Dangote starts sourcing its Crude from Nigeria and in Naira (not the rubbish Reno is writing)

How could Dangote be buying crude from US and you expect Naira to improve?
.

Thank you jare.

I still wonder who takes Reno seriously. Sincerely!

For those believing that naira will appreciate when Dangote's fuel hits the market .. Dey play o!

Wishful thinking is expecting a litre of petrol to drop in price or naira will appreciate when Dangote's fuel hit the market.

What will make a huge difference is if:

1. Dangote sells back to Nigeria in naira

2. Nigeria has enough oil to sell to Dangote without Dangote having to import more oil in dollars from foreign countries.

Without these, Reno and those believing him are jokers

And reduce your IQ ,abi?

The guy is a dullard. Why didn't he advise his dementia stricken thie.fnubu to fix refineries before removal of subsidy? Instead he placed the cart before the horse.

The jokes on you. All those saying fix refineries first before removing subsidies are not economists but the stakeholders who only want to purchase petrol for close to nothing

No economist supports that notion. It isn't compulsory to fix the refinery first. Actually, removing subsidies and better still, fully deregulating the price will encourage people to build refineries. Nobody is keen on producing a product the government fixes below the market price.

Dangote said had Jonathan succeeded in lifting the subsidy in 2012, he would have commenced his refinery project then.

That is why even though demand for petrol is the highest among the refined products, Dangote has started off by only refining diesel. Government needs to go further and deregulate the price of petrol as it has been done for diesel, kerosene and cooking gas.

Listen to Omokri at your own peril. The man is a renowned economic illiterate.

Many things affect the exchange. In Nigeria, fiscal policies by the FG and monetary policies by the CBN.

If the federal government runs a massive budget deficit, it would lead to a depreciation of the Naira. If the CBN runs a loose monetary policy, that would also make the Naira tank.

Can Dangote refinery help the Naira rise? To some extent yes but only very little.

But would would really help the Naira is massive exports of refined oil products not only from Dangote refinery but from new ones coming onstream and the from the refurbished Port Harcourt and Warri refineries. A massive surge in exports is the game changer and not really a reduction in imports.

No, that's not what he is talking about. He also never said Dangote owns Nigeria. So don't attempt changing what he said out hate for Nigeria. What he said is; change your dollars to naira (that's is you have any) before Dangote refinery products hit the market which will expectedly bring down the dollars.
And what Mr omokri said was not far from the truth,if the new refinery pumps slightly cheaper products to the markets and stops the importation of hydrocarbons which gulps 40% of forex, you don't need to be an economist to know that dollar will fall when there is 40% less demand

more than 65% of what we imported last year was refined petroleum. Just imagine when we stop importing refined petroleum, we will save more than 65% of the dollars we spend on importing refined petroleum.

Reflect7:

Because imported US crude oil is cheap. What we were importing was expensive REFINED petroleum products.

So the source of the crude is not that important insofar as it translates to cheaper home grown refined petroleum products and energy.

It’s a reversal of western practices in Africa, where they import our raw materials for cheap, then process and export for massive profits.

That’s exactly what Dangote is doing with US oil.
Brilliant angle.

Is there any products that Dangote is selling that is cheap? Take a look at cement price. If the government will give equal right to every Nigerian investors I can be confidence that price of commodity like fuel cement and other products will be cheap. Even the Dangote refinery Buhari government pump a lot of money to that refinery with our tax paying money. So every Nigerians should benefit from it. Not to milk Nigerians just he is doing for cement and other products
Re: Convert Your Dollars To Naira Before Dangote Refinery Starts – Omokri To Nigeria by eldoradoxx: 11:23pm On Apr 04
Whatever is bringing down dollar is very artificial and is a combination of a lot of factors including CBN defending the naira with so much of our forex reserves. A country's currency gains strength when there is high production and export of goods and services. What are we producing and exporting that suddenly began impacting positively on the strength of naira? If your answer is nothing, then the strength gained by naira is a very artificial economic abracadabra of CBN and will crumble in due time when the cost of defending the naira as currently done now by CBN begins to eat very deeply into the forex reserve. Dont allow characters like Reno Omokri who thrive on deliberate and government sponsored disinformation deceive you.

Most of this people no get sense.dangote never signed an undertaking to sell products in naira,so how does fuel availability affect exchange rate wen even Nigeria itself has sold some part of future crude productions hence dangote refinery will need dollars to import if it's to run at full capacity
