I don't know why people heaping blames on the FG, i guess a lot of people are plain ignorant. We have been through wrong direction for a very long time and it'd take a man with guts to steer us right. How can we sell our public assets to individuals, yet we keep paying them to run the assets. These cabal do not want to get their grip off us but i appreciate Tinubu for putting them in their place.
chief,,you are ignorant one here..So because the individuals that the asset are being sold,,the poor citizens will be d ones to pay n suffer for it? What happened to federal might? 100% in support of FG. FG has been paying subsidy for darkness for decades. This is one of the many evils of PDP whereby incompetent cronies of government were sold NEPA while government keeps paying billions in subsidy to private owners to cover for their operating loss. Which sensible country does that?

I see am say u nor truly well!!!

The government has tried everything that can cause an insurrection but still Nigerians remained mute.
In no distant time, they will be taking men forcefully to labor camps and concentration camps and still nothing will happen after all it has not affected my tribesmen.
One day,it will get to you too.
Remember when we use to hear about terrorism in Somalia 🇸🇴,Afghanistan,India,Pakistan,Thailand etc.
It came here and became worse than them all.
Nigerians,muted.

So it's good for FG to transfer the burden of paying subsidies now to Nigerians to start paying, cos that's what it is now.

This Government came in an removed Fuel subsidy, the decision affected lives, property and the economic hardship it brought upon Nigerians cannot be overemphasized. Yet we kept quiet on this cruelty instead of protesting. Now, they want to remove the subsidy on electricity, and we are still quiet about it. For how long will Nigerians remain fools?
It's apparent that the President has set his mind on generating more revenue at all cost. Even if it cost the lives of the citizens. He doesn't care a 100%

One would expect the FGN to hold DISCOS accountable for all these years underperformance !!!

What has the FGN gotten in return for the subsidies they have been paying all these years Has the Discos improved their services

So, what assurance are they having that the Discos will improve their services when subsidy is removed

One would expect the FGN to hold DISCOS accountable and insist on sourcing funds for a better service first, before increasing the rates.

We can't be paying huge amount of money for darkness... especially customers without prepaid meters. Many customers resides in this Band A areas that do not have meters....na killing estimated bills go dey come now

The same people in the PDP then are now in the APC so what's your point? A former PDP top shot during the PDP admin is now head of one of the 3 arms of government also.

You have a point but for some reason you didn't consider that people are pissed because wages have not changed.

Where I leave once government observed that there are going to be possible increment in the prices of goods and services wages are indexed against such percentage increment. Hence, workers can be able to absorb the increase in price.

You don't just remove subsidy on petrol and now on electricity without channeling such subsidy as an increment in wages.

How do you expect the average worker whose salary has remain the same but within the same time frame has seen petrol price more than double and electricity tariff more than tripped in addition to the prices of other basic goods ?

I think you should be comprehensive in your assessment.

What do Nigerians benefit from being Nigerians? Those who will be quick to compare electricity tariff with other countries will never compare free or subsided education, health care services, higher minimum wages.... Even Nigerians who recently japa to UK are enjoying free education for children under 18 .

Well. Governorment ideally should not be in the business of supply power. Let the private run the sector to minimize corruption and maximize profit while delivering excellent services. People like to use Abia as example but that's what can happen when private get involved.

Even foreign investors might move in. The country needs to stop operating like a socialist country.

can you pls explain this?

Because president comes from a majority trib, & riding on MM ticket so that makes like 2 major trib in support and silent about his inhumane hardship policies.

if FG has been paying subsidy, which profits have the DISCOs been making?

since 2015, what concerns PDP with power supply?

the screenshot below is April this year. is PDP responsible for that?

if you claim that "government keeps paying billions in subsidy to private owners to cover for their operating loss. Which sensible country does that", what has the government of the day done to punish the private owners for fraud?
