In a bizarre video, Minister of Power Mr. Adebayo Adelabu can be heard blasting Nigerians for keeping their refrigerators and air conditioners running all the time because the electricity tariffs is cheap

Excerpts:
"We don't have the culture of consumption management in this country in terms of power, just because of the cheapness of the tariffs you pay in power.
Alot of people will come back from work and they want to play with thier colleagues down the road, they will switch on the AC for the room to be cooling before they come back.
Yes! Some people will be going to work in the morning, a freezer has been left on for days they will still leave it on when all the items in the freezer has frozen they will still leave it on to be consuming power just because we are not paying enough!"

How can this country work when individuals like this serve as ministers? A Minister of Power who lacks a fundamental understanding of how refrigerators work

This one no follow atal.. we have gas, so why pay so much for power generated using gas?. Morever it's nobody's business if I choose to leave my refrigerator on and travel, so far I get value for money I pay for the units.
Walahi we are not serious in this country.. what other nations wish they had is what we are not utilizing to our own benefit.

Overseas, especially in the 80's. Have cold rooms that can freeze a human to death in 12 hours.

They have room heater and thermostat that run 24/7.

They have elevator and escalator at public places that never switched off & runs 24/7.

Some of the most successful CEO's of big companies are actually engineers (even if it is software engineers). It is ridiculous that an engineer is not in charge of the Ministry of Power.
