Although it might take next year before cars will come down. I wanted to quickly sell my car before dollar get to 800. By then cars will be cheap but my concern is that’s when will cars come down? Because i cant stay a month without a car and also my fears is not that cars might not come down in the near future and one won’t be able to buy another car. My mechanic told me to ensure I already see the car to buy or better still buy another one before selling. But as dollar is coming down is it not better to sell now as car are still expensive?. Before it get to 800 or lower?

Tinubu refused to bring down the prices of fuel, diesel, gas and other communities which they always say are affected by the dollar.

Custom duty is still calculated at almost 1500/$

Also, cars can take like two months to arrive Nigeria. It's still early for any price changes.

Surely you can't expect people to sell their cars for cheap and buy replacements at wicked prices?

Meaning the now exchange rate of 1200 is a cruise then, the 1200 should be implemented in all sections of our economy why custom duty is still $/1500? I doubt it sha

I believe custom duty charges are the culprits here. Not really the rate of the dollar to the naira.

government running multiple exchange regimes as it suits them

scam

This means the 1,100 is just a vendetta move and nothing more.

true value is still over 1300 to 1 USD

Custom duty now is 1,250 and with the ways things are going on it's better you wait till June/July when dollar might be around 800 or less. Because cars are fucking expensive in Nigeria now and most of 9ja used now aren't good cars. Foreign used is better through Benin or 9ja port.

The coming down never reach customs.

Greedy Bas.tards

This country is just a fuckery.

A country that sets monthly target for an agency like customs.

Abeg since when did customs become a profit organization. Is there job not to ensure what comes in and goes out is in other?

Do they not understand the economics of multiplier effect?

its the corruption in the sector. The government do not trust the customs. Hence the target. Nigeria is the only country where target is set for custom
