Betta Edu is a politician from Nigeria who was born on October 27, 1986.

She was the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation before her suspension following allegations that she transferred over 585 million naira (about £500,000 or $640,000) from the government into a personal bank account.

She held the position of All Progressive Congress’s national women’s leader.

Prior to her resignation in 2022, she served as the Cross River State Commissioner for Health.

In addition, she served as the Nigeria Health Commissioners Forum’s National Chairman.

In April 2024, the EFCC's chair, Olanipekun Olukoyede, wrote, "As it is now, we are investigating over 50 bank accounts that we have traced money into. The approximate average amount in each of Edu's bank accounts that the EFCC traced and seized seems to have been about ₦600 million, for a total, across her 50 or more accounts, of some ₦30 billion"

She was appointed Minister on 21 August 2023 and was suspended 8 January 2024. Meaning She run this Kain mad package within 4 months.
