Why should Nigerians abroad be concerned about that? At 1000 per dollar, you send $100 to Nigeria to do certain things. That's 100,000 naira.

Then the exchange rate goes to 1500 per dollar. You want to do those same things, and they tell you that you can't do it for 100,000 naira again because things are now more expensive due to the exchange rate. To do those things now, you need 150,000 naira. That means you then need to convert $100 to naira to afford that thing.

Now, the exchange rate goes back to 1000 per dollar. To do that particular thing again, the price will come back to 100,000 naira. Then you need to convert $100 to get 100,000 naira to get it done.

In all cases, you have spent $100. Your purchasing power has neither increased nor decreased, but just the figures changing.

And if the prices of things haven't come down yet, just wait. Prices are gradually coming down and will be back to where it was when the dollar was selling for 1000.

The truth is the naira appreciation is good for our country... Anybody that earns in foreign currency and spends in naira will not be happy with the naira appreciation whereas those that earns in naira and spends foreign currencies are expected to be happy.

Subtle reminder that Tinubu met dollar at N490 = $1

If you're a foreign investor who believed Tinubu and invested in Nigeria, your bank has probably taken over your business to recover their money

The image below shows how much the naira has lost value in the past one year

Offcos not , so the better the Nigerian economy gets the better for all of us Nigerians , let the naira actually finds its levels and not saccharine fake government manipulation and if it is 10 naira to a dollar we will come happily and put in our best

to be frank with you most of us are not happy about it. Especially knowing that cost of things are still high. They should work on reducing cost of things because remittances would drop.

Spending billions of naira to defend same naira Against dollar, Dem go soon start to dey print naira again

Most of the things dey accuse Emefiele of doing, they are already doing it.

They removed subsidy cos they couldn't sustain it, throwing Nigerians into more hardship, then went behind to continue paying subsidy, meanwhile petrol still sells higher than before subsidy was removed.

Until tinubu brings dollar to below 400, furl below 400 as well, and a massive decline in the cost of basic items he hasn't done anything to be celebrated

Prices are certain to come down. Though it might take a while, they will eventually drop. Some goods are already experiencing price reductions.

No you don't understand that Nigeria was wasting $20 billion yearly to defend Naira which has been removed. So you want the waste to continue?
