Nigeria does not currently operate any Air Defense Systems apart from the outdated ZSU-23-4 Shilka Soviet Era self propelled weapon system - that can only intercept hand grenades and probably some man-portable (manpads) missiles.

Needless to say, Nigeria would be completely obliterated if those missiles fired by Iran into Israel last night were directed towards any targets in Nigeria.

The leadership of the Nigerian Army & Airforce have been shoring up their arsenals with moderate military equipments and it would be to their advantage to order at least 6 regiments of the S-400 Triumf Missile Systems from Russia to defend the sovereign integrity of Nigeria.

If Nigeria does not have enough money to buy this highly effective Mobile Surface-To-Air Missile (SAM) in combination with the Pantsir S2 + BUK Missile Systems; Nigeria can opt for the S-300 Missile Systems but unfortunately Nigeria will not be able to ward off attacks or invasion from Algeria since she operates the very deadly Islander-E and the Kalibr Cruise Missiles that wreaked so much havoc on Ukraine.

Lastly, Nigeria has recently been buying Helicopters & Fighter Jets from Amerika but Nigeria should rather buy her Air Defense Equipments from Russia like we did for the MI-35 Attack Gunships.

Those Iranian missiles have a reach of just over 1,300 miles, which can’t take them beyond Egypt.

There is no military power in Nigeria’s region of influence that can threaten her with missiles.
