PressMyButton:

This happened at parallel market not official market. I thought the CBN is defending the naira, then why did it fall at the parralel market after defending it?

Nah Aboki be parallel market. CBN is defending the naira by selling to Aboki and putting a cap on how much they are to sell.

As it is 1100 naira now. If CBN sell to Aboki at 900 naira. Aboki is expected not make any profit above 50 naira.

Aboki price will continue to fall as CBN continue to sell lower to Aboki. That is the agreement with the new approved BDC.

Foreign reserve is going down deeply. We all know why naira is depreciating now.
The next move is for the government to borrow billions of dollars to defend naira. This method cannot sustain for long. CBN has given out 2 billion dollars in less than two months to banks and BDCs to defend naira. This is sad.
This is the sad truth people don’t know. They keep on defending the government. They don’t know what will hit the Naira soon when the government will run out of fund to supervise the dollar: make I Dey here Dey laugh in waiting

So everything about Nigeria is now naira & dollar. Nobody is talking about unstable power supply, unemployment, insecurity etc anymore. To think that the effect of the naira & dollar noise is not even reflecting on the economy & prices of goods makes this whole thing a joke! What a country

We that don’t have Chicago certificate or any foreign certificates told him that removing subsidies and floating the naira at the same time was bad for our already weak economy. One at a time would have been better. Now they have gone back to defending the naira. Imagine all the sufferings on the masses that would have been avoided

didn't you read where it said that the cbn is selling dollars to bureau de changes at indexed prices? I guess you don't even know that bureau de changes are the parallel markets and indexed prices means the prices are fixed artificially by the cbn.

Wanted to explain to him but you beat me to it, the problem is the block head will still not understand unless explained in his native language

A little up and down variation is very normal.l hope it does not fall to a downward trend like we saw lately.lt is unfortunate, however, that Prices of basic commodities are still rising and not showing any signs of reducing.

Tunubu simply did what he once accused Buhari and emefiele of( rescuing the naira with dollar). See how super clueless he is? As clueless as those supporting him.

The reason why price of goods are not coming down is because you're buying from bitter Obi sellers.
Buy goods from normal Nigerians, you sef go bodija and buy your bag of rice.

This is what the hatchet job by that Obi supporter that wrote tales and lies about the fx reserves dwindling and being used to defend the Naira has caused. Panic! They dont want to see Nigeria prosper so they can say oh whe told you. The theif from Agulu is the savior

Before the haters of Nigeria start jubilating, read the news properly o. The depreciation is as a result of decreased crude oil sales in March. This is normal in business as it's not everyday or monthly that you make huge sales or profit. There could be some dips in some months....

Nigeria shall be better..... I want it to be better....

To some people, this is progress

Naira was ₦461 and ₦570 (Official and black market rate) this time last year

You came and scattered everything, same naira went to ₦1900+, you decided to return back to status quo by officially manipulating the market plus fixing rate. (Same thing others did before you came).

Now that you're trying to return to status quo, you're using the buy-out media to deceive the gullible into thinking you have done anything tangible.

The effects of your rash decisions can be seen on the streets. Everything still high as ever.

Even if Naira returns back to ₦461 or even ₦570, can bag of rice return to ₦32k?
Fuel to ₦269?

Until the average citizen can feed his or her household with minimum wage better than as it was before you came, you have done nothing.
