LASG Seals Shops On Martins Street For Safety Violations by Lanrelagboi: 7:41am On Apr 18
The Lagos State Safety Commission has sealed two lock-up shops on Martins Street, off Broad Street, due to safety violations.

The Director-General of the Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola, disclosed that the two lock-up shops were sealed following a petition from a concerned member of the public alleging that the shops violated safety rules and regulations.

According to him, the Commission has a mandate to ensure the safety of lives and property in Lagos State.

He stated that the two shops were sealed in response to the petition received by the Commission from a concerned resident about a transformer located directly in front of the shops at No. 148, Broad Street, Marina, Lagos.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a transformer was installed directly in front of the two shops. The barricade on the transformer is touching the wall of the building, coupled with a gas generator situated close to the transformer, which poses a high risk and unsafe act to the people and the environment, as this may lead to another fire outbreak.

He implores members of the public to support the government’s zero-tolerance policy against violations of safety rules and regulations.

He emphasized that safety is our collective responsibility and urged members of the public to report unsafe practices or infractions to 0700SAFETY.

All these shops owners have to comply with the new rules to avoid unnecessary noise.

I think bloggers are one of the problems we are now having in Nigeria.

This is good

I will still ask this question, what exactly are other state governors doing in their states? Is it that the Lagos state government has a better media team than other States hence why we hear everything they do or the other states are just not doing much for their states like Lagos?

Good way to go. In Nigeria, we care about money at the expense of our personal safety.. Govt need to do more to instill safety into the minds of Nigerians.

We risk a lot in the name of hustling, and for people that doesn't like to take responsibility for our actions and inactions. We started looking for who to blame when things go wrong.

It’s only the seemingly good things you will see and hear about the LASG, hence they’ve a better media team.
There are so much unheard propaganda ravaging this our Lagos too.

Any reasonable human being would know this is in direct violation of HSE rules surrounding power installations. This is no witch hunting, this is for their own safety.

This is a deliberate attempt to impoverish the already rich Developer Nation.

Money is more important than Safety.
Poor red soil people will never understand.

Leave Developers alone in Lagos.

Ibo people will come to Lagos state and think they can spoil Lagos state and they have done to their region .....God forbid.
Can you imagine a whole region on lockdown for the whole day just because one fugitive and wanderer and wanted man called Ekpa Simeon gave order and all the governors in this region will obey .....now, the same people will be running their mouth in Lagos state....I no blame them ....Lagos state government are not doing enough ....they make their land free for some refugee to hide and misbehave .....it is high time all the southwest governors protect their territory for all these refugees who has always claiming developer of Lagos state.
